I'd much prefer to see us pick a season, like the 2007 team, and make additions/subtractions from that as necessary.

If we add a single season, 2007 would be the most appropriate (World Series year). Since Hollliday is already in set, substitute should be 2010 Carlos Gonzalez card...

I think the 2007 Rockies would be the logical choice. We should pick a season in my opinion, including some low-priced cards and fill in from there.

Here are the current Rockies in ATG. Single season or pick best available? So far it feels like 2007 has the momentum.

Additional thoughts?

2007 Rockies. There are 6 players that have cards presently and would be duplicated. The 6 are Jimenez, Iannetta, Helton, Tulo, Holliday and Finley. Finley though would be a .50 cent guy. Here is a list of possible replacements.

1995 Steve Reed - RP
1994 Marvin Freeman - SP
1995 Curt Leskanic - RP
2009 Huston Street - RP
2012 Dustin Fowler - CF
2010 Carlos Gonzalez - OF
2016 DJ Lemahieu - 2B
2017 Nolan Arenado - 3B 9L
2017 Charlie Blackmon - CF
2017 Pat Neshek - RP
2010 Jhoulys Chacin - SP

I like the 2007 Rockies as the starting point...

1993 Joe Girardi should be included, in my opinion. Rockies catcher for their first three seasons and a 15-year player with no card in ATG.

A 2007 Rockies team would include (not an exhaustive list, but points of interest):
Jeremy Affeldt, Throws-L, 3.51 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, R1, 5R Balance
Garret Atkins, 301/367/486, Bats-R, 2R Balance, 3b-4e15/1b-4e30
Jeff Baker, 222/296/347, Bats-R, 3L Balance, 1b-4e30/3b-4e18/RF-LF-4(-1)e4
Jamey Carroll, 225/317/300, Bats-R, 2L Balance, 2b-2e6/3b-3e47/SS-4e12/RF-4(+2)e16
Aaron Cook, Throws-R, 4.12 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, S6(unsure about *), 3L Balance
Manny Corpas, Throws-R, 2.08 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, R1, 2R Balance
Brian Fuentes, Throws-L , 3.06 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, R1, E Balance
LaTroy Hawkins, Throws-R, 3.42 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, R1, 1R Balance
Brad Hawpe, 291/367/539, Bats-L, 5R Balance, RF-4(-3)e7
Todd Helton, 320/434/494, Bats-L, 3R Balance, 1b-2e2 (a quick eye-balling says this is probably his 6th-7th best season)
Matt Herges, Throws-R, 2.96 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, R2, 4R Balance
Chris Ianneta, 218/330/350, Bats-R, E Balance, C-3(0)e1
Ubaldo Jimenez, Throws-R, 4.28 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, S6(unsure about *), 3R Balance
Kaz Matsui, 288/342/405, Bats-S, 1R Balance, 2b-2e6
Franklin Morales, Throws-L, 3.43 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, S5, 8L Balance, 1 Walk/No Hits vs LH (Does he have enough IP (39) to qualify for SOM to add?)
Omar Quintanilla, 229/280/286, Bats-L, 4R Balance, 2b-3e6/SS-3e7 (only 70 ABs)
Ryan Spilborghs, 299/363/485, Bats-R, 3L Balance, LF-RF-3(0)e3/CF-4(0)e3
Cory Sullivan, 286/336/386, Bats-L, 2R Balance, CF-2(-1)e1
Willy Taveras, 320/267/382, Bats-R, 1L Balance, CF-2(-3)e8
Yorvit Torrealba, 255/323/376, Bats-R, E Balance, C-2(0)e1
Troy Tulowitzki, 291/359/479, Bats-R, 2L Balance, SS-2e12

2011 Seth Smith wouldn't be a bad add as a platoon: 5R Balance, 284/347/483, RF-LF-4(+1)e7

1997 Neifi Perez might be a good add. He’s a 2b-2e8/SS-2e24, 291/333/444, 2L Balance. Might prove to be a decent middle IF sub

I suggest we hand pick the pitchers. What's the point if the pitchers are not good enough. Make sure they have a good rotation and the best reliever seasons we can find.
