18.2 Cards

PostFri Jul 27, 2018 6:47 pm

Looks like the 18.2 cards are in the set. Noticed the '72 Hebner card, then spot-checked a few others...

If true, good catch.

On the other hand, Garcia can't even be bothered to announce it. That is a new low even by SOM's abysmal customer service standards. Might have taken him 30 seconds to announce it in that joke of a blog he writes 4 times a year.

Yes the cards are confirmed to be in, sans the Barnstormer's playoff managers' choices.

Pricing on the new cards by the secret committee of community members tasked with setting the prices is, to say the least, inconsistent. No way Krause is worth 9.80 M and several cards are seriously underpriced. Which ones are undervalued, the community will have to figure out for itself.

Jeez, Bruce, give the man a break. The new cards will be out soon, which you admit is good news, then use that as a springboard to criticize Strat and complain about the pricing of the cards. The only reason we're getting the cards is because Garcia is overworking himself at a difficult time. Your predictable criticism is unwarranted,

Adding players without an SOM announcement is B.S. I was in a live draft Friday and saw to my unhappy shock, players drafted that I didn't know were even available. After the draft I down loaded the excel spreadsheet and the players were not listed there too. All the drafts that took place (Live and Auto drafts) these past few days are bogus. When some owners are aware of the new players being added and some owners are not (ME !) makes the drafts unfair in my opinion. I let SOM support know my disgust.

Not to defend SOM, but I disagree that the live drafts were bogus. As soon as I saw this thread, I verified and posted on the boards here 1 hr and 53 minutes before the drafts commenced that the 18.2 cards were out. So, as much as I deplore their handling of the release -and everything about it - one can make the argument that due diligence, merely glancing at the ATG message boards, would have alerted the live draft participants to the situation. Furthermore, at the cap you drafted at, really only Krause and a handful of relievers are draftable at 235M. Not to mention that as soon as one of the new guys were drafted, alarm bells should have gone off and you should have realized something was amiss. Since no one card of the 18.2 release is remotely a game changer at 235M, I don't think that the pathetic way the release was handled could have had enough impact to invalidate the draft.

Agreed--
it doesn't make the live drafts bogus-- but to be honest- things are really not right here at all-- and the dilapidation does seem to be slowly eroding what it is left here; so of course its reasonable to be upset that no one announced the new cards -- but Id be even more upset that these are the cards from March.

Cards were added? Why it is a secret? I check boards only once a week or so instead of five times a day when Strat (bernie) cared about this game. These were March adds?!
