This is crazy

I never knew the secret ingredient to winning is the playoffs is to have two or more starters injured for the entire series.

This happened the last time I was in the playoffs:

I lose game one, then in game two,
Nap Lajoie INJURED (for 15 more games) in 1st inning.
Honus Wagner INJURED (for 7 more games) in 4th inning.
Then I lose my starting catcher (Ricky Ferrell) for 5 games, but still made it into the finals.
Then in game 4 of the finals, Ed Delahanty INJURED (for 8 more games) in 8th inning, but it didn't matter by then because we swept the series in four games.

OK, so I thought that was just dumb luck. Until my very next playoff series.

Game 162: Phil Bradley INJURED (for 10 more games) in 4th inning,
Phil Weintraub INJURED (for 4 more games) in 8th inning

Game One: Jake Stenzel INJURED (for 3 more games) in 8th inning
Game Two: Ed Delahanty INJURED (for 5 more games) in 1st inning

We ended up winning this one in five games, with backups littered all across the lineup.
Who needs expensive star players when you can win easily in the playoffs with cheap $550,000 backups?

Won my first ring in a $140 million league where Mickey Cochrane got injured for 15 games in is first PA in the playoffs. Jody Davis proceeded to lead my team in RBIs.
