Once, just once, I'd love to have a smooth sailing draft. Does anyone know how to use a proxy?
I'd like to propose a rule that if a manager takes more than his 3 hour allotment during the weekday when the clock is running, his next selection is on a one hour clock. If they can't live with the one hour, well...there's always a proxy.
Here we are, 2 weeks left in the season, and due to the long time consuming drafts, we are pretty much left with a 2019 FA draft that is somewhat useless. Most players drafted in the supplemental draft should have been available in the spring draft, had we had our supplemental draft in June (July at the latest) like we had in past years. White, Bucholz, Leclerc, for example, would have been available in the upcoming spring draft, instead, poof!!!
Last year I knew I would need SPs so I selected 3 SPs that "were" having decent years at the time. Due to their 2nd half disasters, I used none of them for this year. I gambled, I lost. This year, I (and everyone else), had the luxury of pretty much knowing approximately what the final stats will be. Granted, LeClerc can blow up and give up 8 runs in 2 innings the last week of the season and make my 2nd selection useless, but if that doesn't happen, I end up with a top 2 or 3 reliever for 2019, that I wouldn't have given a 2nd thought to in June.
