A new club

PostFri Sep 21, 2018 10:55 pm

Sutter is the founding member of the 20-20-20-20 club with the following shitshow of a season:

Not a club anyone would ever want to join, methinks.

Nice!! The +40 rolls on the batters card probably didn't help.

One of the strangest stat lines we've ever seen.

Playing home games at Fulton County stadium didn't help either. Sutter gave up 32 Home runs with a 8.16 E.R.A. there.

I'm also loving the stat of 61 passed balls for your starting catcher. Pretty impressive on a 93 win team :o

Don't forget that Gooden and Pascual led the league in balks and Sutter and Howe each made the WP leader list. I didn't really care about stolen bases or any of the other miscues that allow mere extra bases. Hey it was Fulton, land of the three run homer!

What made this team work was Bonds, Thomas, McGwire, Morgan, Schmidt and Harper. I never have an array of studs like these guys in higher cap autodrafts - 4 of the top 24 picks! Also the pen. Other than that, nothing else mattered, although since that is not usually the case, I don't think Clements will get many starting shots on my future teams.

Thanks Angelo. I see each team as an experiment. Like the addition of new variables to test out. This one afforded me a direct comparison between McGwire and Thomas. Thomas won!
