Pitching Budget Question FEEDBACK APPRECIATED

PostSun Dec 02, 2018 3:57 pm

 Is there ever an instance when a team could be successful spending 50 percent of its ATG $80 12 team budget on pitching? Thank you for ANY FEEDBACK

Many, many times. It is a common strategy, although not one I have used more than a couple of times myself. I will append a current example. So far it's working quite well for Riggo Drill.

Thank you for the league insight. This is Post WW2 $80 12 teams. So I have the Red Sox Pedro 8.12 or I go with an 8.00 type hitter. Too late to go with a 4 man rotation  I don't know if this Pedro is worth it pitching every 5th day

His 9.28M card is. Unless there are a lot of righthanded power parks in your division/league. I never use his 8 M card.

Just checked. Not much hitting going on with left handed bats even though it's 2R  If I go for the 9.38 I won't have a real shortstop

Plenty of other successful teams with around a 50/50 mix

Here's a recent example:

And on the other side of the coin, I won an $80 million league with a pitching rotation of Brantley, Halama, vandeBerg, Clyde, and two other .50 starters, with 3 relievers, the most expensive of which was Wolfgang. I'd post a link, but my archive of old teams is not available right now.

Edit - archive is back up. Here's the team.
