I'd also say too much concern about walks on a pitcher's card is overblown if they give up few hits.
I am not quite sure I understand what you are discussing here as being overblown. What exactly is the concern people have about walks? It seems clear for example that (all else being equal) a the a 5/108 single plus 5/108 walk is a least a little better than a 10/108 single pitcher because of movement of baserunners. I admit I don't have a complete handle on the relative value of the walk v single i.e. in the above example where does the balance of value shift (6/108 walks v 5/108 single, 6.5, 7?).
