Game play question

PostMon Dec 17, 2018 9:46 pm

Seeking an opinion from experts who've played both the board game and online version.

Let's say you have a very slow runner on first base such as Ernie Lombardi. The next batter is very fast, and rolls a triple.

Does the slow runner automatically score every time? In real life, I would imagine the 3rd base coach would hold Lombardi at third most of the time.

Just wondering, thanks.

I don't know all the nuances in the code, but I think all runners regardless of speed will score on a triple.
The game will let Lombardi hit a triple off the pitcher's card, so why not?

Here's the call on Lombardi's triple.....

It's a blooper out to RF, Bill Terry is at a wounded gallop, makes a dive, and it's by him, rolls into the corner. Terry ambles back, picks the ball up, and makes a 5 hop throw to 2nd basemen Cano, who wheels and fires to third, where Lombardi has dug a trench sliding in under Mathew's tag, it's a triple!
