If we are going to pick out grammar mistakes, I suggest you look at how you use the word i.

jet: oh nevermind, i now realize that you were talking about this tournament. i thought you meant that after years of playing this tournament, you found something else to play that was more exciting. i have always felt for years that barnstormers becomes almost automatic and i end up using mostly the same players or team builds and it would be nice to have additional variety, like players being repriced or only using small subsets of the entire set, so that everyone was forced to use different players. i wasn't trying to point out a grammar mistake. i am certainly a d1ck but not in that respect.

Actually this is my first time trying Barnstormers. I am glad our Final will be either 80 or 100 million. I can probably count on one hand my $140 and 200 million teams.
I agree that without change things can become stale. Why Strat has not repriced the cards is beyond me.

After reading Matt's post, I looked at some of my old ATG III teams earlier today. Some of the pricing then was quite interesting. Klippstein was over 4 million, Geronimo 1.7M, Klusewski 4.7 M instead of 6.16 etc. This got me thinking, wouldn't it be nice if we could add to the BS finals "prize fund" i.e. in addition to adding cards, also gift the 12 finalists with the ability to reprice one existing card each, since there isn't the slightest indication that SOM has any interest in EVER doing that. I would further suggest that any pricing changes be limited to +/- 20% of the card's current value. This should provide more incentive for people to sign up for the tour and thus generate at least a tad more revenue for SOM (the only language they appear to speak) for about 10 minutes of Garcia's time per year.

Anyway, it can't hurt to ask, especially if we speak with one voice (like that will ever happen ).

Am I more like Fischer or Karpov -- I guess that's a compliment. My chess trophies are packed away in a box in the basement, and I play a lot of duplicate bridge these days. So I'd prefer Rodwell or Meckstroth. Obviously, this is a highly accomplished group of managers.

Rburgh - Craig Biddle - is a very active duplicate player who I believe has made the Barry Crane top 500 list of master-point winners, perhaps in 2017? When I played duplicate (1977-1986) I think it used to be called the Mckinney Trophy that the ACBL awarded to the person who garnered the most masterpoints in a given year. I still have a couple of hundred bridge books and crates of old Bridge World magazines in my garage, but when I started graduate school and moved away from Long Island, pretty much gave the game up. My forte was bidding but needed a regular partner, the guy I played relay precision with was one of my professors at college but when we became geographically separated that was it for me.

Now I just play chess, these days online. When I retire in a couple of years will probably resume playing face to face tournaments. From 1997-2003 I was the editor of Empire Chess, the journal of the New York State Chess Federation. Stylistically, I am most similar to Petrosian, thus my initial name here. Fischer and Karpov, particularly Fischer, had clear, relatively transparent, styles. I just like games: Chess, Bridge, Backgammon, Poker and SOM. The latter is more of an old addiction, SOM lacks the immersive quality of chess or bridge but is much easier to achieve a reasonable degree of mastery over.

I've won the Mini-McKinney the last 3 years (for DC, VA & MD) since I've gotten into duplicate bridge. It's a good game (just like SOM) for someone who is OCD about numbers, games and competing.
