'Super Team' Franchise Tournament 2019
Please read the rules below carefully. If anything needs clarification or correction, please bring it up before the draft begins. Thanks!
GENERAL RULES
This will be an invitation only tournament. We will use the 6-team format and the tournament will be comprised of three individual seasons run successively. The cap will be 999m and the player set will be ATG8 for each season.
This will be a franchise league, meaning that you may only select players that are carded to the franchise teams you have selected. You may use any card the player has, but he must have a card for your franchise.
There will be series of seven teams to select from each season. Once the first season begins there will be no changes to super team composition unless there are more cards released or there is some other issue that makes the current team setup less fair.
The first season team draft order will be determined by randomizer results. Before the randomizer is run, each player will be assigned a number from 1-6. The resulting randomized number order will be the draft order for the first season, i.e. 5-3-4-1-2-6; team #5 will have the first pick followed by team #3 and so on. For the remaining seasons the team draft order will be determined by the order of finish in the standings of the previous season, with the team finishing in last place having the first pick in the team draft and the rest going from worst to first place.
Managers cannot pick the same team in back to back seasons.
Please use the team names in your team name so its clear which franchises are yours.
Please use only a ballpark that belongs to one of your franchise teams.
TEAMS
1. Yankees, White Sox, Marlins, Diamondbacks (Babe Ruth)
2. Red Sox, Pirates, Astros, BlueJays (Pedro Martinez)
3. Cardinals, Indians, Padres, Devil Rays (Rogers Hornsby)
4. Dodgers, Tigers, Expos-Nats, Rockies (Mike Piazza)
5. Athletics, Phillies, Brewers, Mariners, Mets (Jimmie Foxx)
6. Cubs, Braves, Browns/Orioles, Angels (Ross Barnes)
7. Giants, Reds, Rangers, Royals, Was/Min Twins (Barry Bonds)
The players in parenthesis following the team list are assigned exclusively to that team.
FREE AGENTS
All Negro League players, including Satchel Paige, and any pre-1900 player who does not appear on any team drop-down menu will be free agents at waivers except for Ross Barnes, who is assigned to the Cubs franchise. Satchel Paige may not be drafted by the Indians.
DRAFT
Following the initial draft, if you receive a free agent player you must make every effort to release that player into the player pool before waivers. The most valuable players should be released first if there are multiple players on a team. Please do not make drops following the draft until you have checked with the other managers to see if you need to assist. Please help each other out. With only six teams its tricky.
If you receive a player in the draft who is not carded to your franchise, and that player has cards for more than one super team, then the player should be dropped before or during the waiver process, whichever makes the most sense given the value of the player and the other drops that should occur.
TRADES (edited)
Trading is allowed as long as each team has the rights to the players being traded *away*. For example, if you have the Cubs franchise and drafted Cuyler, you could trade him to any other team in the league. Trades before waivers where one player(s) is exclusive to one team involved, where the returning player(s) is exclusive to an uninvolved team, are OK since the returning player must be dropped at waivers and can only be claimed by the manager who holds his exclusive rights.
