If you plan it correctly it could be used as an unfair advantage but I just released Ohtani's pitchers card and kept the hitting card.
So it looks like while you can have both cards on the roster the game engine will not allow both to work at the same time. You are going to have to drop one to use the other apparently.

Ok thanks for the info, it was unlikely Ohtani was going to start a game for me anyways. If he continues to be a decent two-way player though I hope Strat figures something out.
