Dual Franchise League Season 24

This will be season 24 of the Dual Franchise League. For the upcoming season however, each manager will only have one franchise to pick, similar to last season; Rules as follows;

-- Each manager will be only choosing one franchise; it must be one of the 16 franchises listed below, the majority of them are original franchises although I have included both the Astros and Expos as choices.

-- Once each manager has drafted a franchise , then each manager will draft 4 free agents for his team. The team picking the last franchise will have first pick for the free agents and the draft will reverse as we have done in past seasons. You cannot draft a free agent that another manager has the rights to, however after the first game is played ALL players either from original or franchise teams will eligible to be picked up as free agents

Salary cap will be 145 million, we are using a DH. 5% drop for the season.

Trading players is allowed, however if you draft a free agent and subsequently trade him, you will not be allowed to pick up another free agent; you may however drop a free agent and add another. No NEL players are eligible.

Just want to tweak one rule so that it doesn't become a problem later:

I will use the Yankees as an example;


If I own the Reds franchise and DR Freeze informs me that he is not using Paul Oneil, as in the past I can pick him up in preseason and because I have one of Oneils cards, and it would not be considered a free agent acquisition ( gentlemens agreement we have previously used)


However if Dr Freeze informs me he is not planning on using Joe DiMaggio, I cannot pick him up until after the first game is played and it would be considered a free agent acquisition. In other words a manager cannot simply give a player away to another franchise; we should all have an equal opportunity to pick up a player so therefore we must wait until after the first game is played.


And remember you can choose any ballpark and you cannot have more than 4 free agents on your roster at one time.
