1. 1999 Fred McGriff TB 1b 4R 339/436/593 vs righties, career high .405 obp, .310 ba, 30 2b, 32 hr, a different type of McGriff card, nice addition to the Rays undermanned group of hitters, Tampa native and original D-Ray, let's bring the Crime Dog home! https://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/3384/1999/1/1999
2. 1968 Andy Messersmith CAL S/R - We can't seem to get enough votes for the 69 card, so how about his BEST card? 0.97 WHIP, 2.37 ERA, 81 IP 44 hits 74 K's (great 5 man rotation option!)
3. 1922 Ray Grimes CHC 1B .354/.442/.572 45 doubles, 12 triples 159 OPS+, RHH probably a 2 or 3R, career cut short by back problems, gives the CHC Pre another choice besides Cavarretta
4. 2009 Adrian Gonzalez SD 1B. - Gold Glove, 40 homeruns in Petco and no cards in the ATG. (Padres only good 1b in the set is McGriff)
5. 1969 Ollie Brown, SD, 5L Balance, RF-2(-4)e8 no card in ATG
6.1930 George Watkins, STL, Bats-L, 5R Balance, LF/RF-3(-1)e15, CF-4(-1)e15
Talk about an upgrade! Two cards now, at 0.55 and 0.97. In 1930 he came on like Chicxulub - 373/415/621. This is the highest batting average for a rookie in NL baseball history (baseball almanac)
7. 1972 Gary Nolan, Reds, RHSP 15-5 1.99 1.006 Career bests in ERA, WHIP, W-L%. Led NL in W-L%, 2nd in ERA (trailing only Steve Carlton, 1.97 to 1.99), & BB9, 3rd in WHIP (behind Carlton & Don Sutton) and 8th in H9. Nolan was plagued by arm trouble throughout his injury shortened career, but still was lifetime 110-70 .611 with a career 3.08 ERA. A good reverse RHSP at 3L. Post War and Expansion Reds could use another SP.

14.1988 Bobby Witt, TEX, RH SP, no card for the wild man, 22 starts, 13CG, 174IP, 148K, 101W, 3.92 ERA, 13HRA, led league with 16WP (but, hey, who’s counting?); good option for 5-man Rota, and likely cheap.
15. 2007 Bobby Jenks CWS https://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/90275/2007/1/2007
16. 2009 Nick Punto, MIN, Bats-S, 1L Balance, 2b-2e5, SS-2e21, 3b-2e11, Steal: *4,5/-(19-12) https://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/925/2009/1/2009. We need bench players good at all 3 inf positions in ATG.
17. 1897 Fred Clarke (Pirates, formerly Louisville Colonels). Best season for HOF'er. His current best card has 2 pts. of injury. This year, he played in every game his team played, hitting .390 .461 .530 with a career high 59 steals and a league leading OPS+ of 166 to go with a lifetime OPS+ of 133!

24. 1962 Floyd Robinson, CHW, LF/RF 45 2b, 10 3b, 11 (Old Comiskey) HRs
25. 1974 Don Money - MIlwaukee - Bulletproof - Only 5 errors at 3B all season (.989 % compared to league average of .954) - 15 HR's and 19 SB's

18. 1976 Ron Leflore LF DET BA-.316 OBP-.376 SLG-.410 OPS-.786 SB-58 AA-*6-8/-(18-15) 2L Currently represented only by 1975 ($.57M) and 1980 ($.77M), this season is a major step up for Leflore. Card odds:
LH--5.3 2b, 3.3 3b, 1.4 HR, 13 BB 431/505/601, 1.105 OPS
RH--3.5 2b, 1.5 3b, 1.4 HR, 8 BB 345/400/454, .854 OPS
19. 2007 Russ Springer, Cardinals, 8-1, 2.18 ERA, .909 WHIP, probably best year of 18+ seasons with 10 or more teams, good complement to Izzy in a franchise league, is 7R, $4.00 in 2007 set
20. 1989 Mickey Tettleton, Orioles, Ca; 26 HR & 73 walks in only 411 AB – he had a strong argument for MVP in 1989 Orioles miracle turnaround season
21. 1986 Ron Hassey, C White Sox .323/.406/.481 This card is a huge improvement over the 2 Hassey cards already in ATG.https://onlinegames.strat-o-matic.com/p ... 1986/1/101

23. 1941 Elmer Riddle, CIN, SP/RP, 19-4, 2.24, #5 in MVP voting. This is much more of an ATG season than his '40 card
24. 1962 Floyd Robinson, CHW, LF/RF 45 2b, 10 3b, 11 (Old Comiskey) HRs
25. 1974 Don Money - MIlwaukee - Bulletproof - Only 5 errors at 3B all season (.989 % compared to league average of .954) - 15 HR's and 19 SB's
26. 1991 Bobby Bonilla, PIT, Bats-S, E Balance, RF-3(-1)e4, 1b-4e7, 3b-4e37
LH--5.9 2b, 0.2 3b, 10.2 HR, 8 BB 310/368/682, 1.050 OPS
RH--11.5 2b, 1.6 3b, 0.2 HR, 24 BB 379/523/561, 1.084 OPS
Finished 3rd in MVP Voting, Led League in Doubles, better than the 1987 card and more representative of what he was for almost a decade. This is also one of those unique cards that is balanced in an unbalanced way: lots of HR power vs LHP, lots of Doubles and OBP vs RHP.
27. 1991 Rick Aguilera- MIN: Twins can use help in the pen.
https://onlinegames.strat-o-matic.com/p ... /90/439801
28. 1941 Thornton Lee, White Sox, LHSP 22-11 2.37. Led A.L. pitchers in ERA, CG, ERA+ & WAR. Career bests in W, W-L%, ERA, IP, CG, ERA+, WAR, ShO, K, H9 & WHIP. This would be a big upgrade over Lee's other cards, which are seldom used, and would give the Prewar White Sox a badly needed SP in franchise leagues.

1. 1999 Fred McGriff TB 1b 4R 339/436/593 vs righties, career high .405 obp, .310 ba, 30 2b, 32 hr, a different type of McGriff card, nice addition to the Rays undermanned group of hitters, Tampa native and original D-Ray, let's bring the Crime Dog home! https://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/3384/1999/1/1999
2. 1968 Andy Messersmith CAL S/R - We can't seem to get enough votes for the 69 card, so how about his BEST card?

Tough on lefties and death on righties. I have his card in my set, but no online cards exist as of yet. Would be a welcome addition to the Angels franchise.

Re: 19.3 Nominations are Open!

PostThu Apr 25, 2019 8:06 am

Greetings,

10 Days into the process and we need 9 more nominations to get to 40, so we will bring the "next 10" from 19.2 back for another shot, instead of just 5 that had garnered 2% of the vote.

We will do this going forward as well. 40 new nominations each time, plus the 10 highest vote getters that missed the cut in the previous election, instead of just those at 2% of the vote.

1991 Otis Nixon ATL OF 26
1920 Buck Weaver CWS 3b/ss 25
1993 Mike Stanley NYY C 24
1968 Stan Bahnsen NYY SP 24

1964 Bob Allison MIN OF/1B 22
2003 Eric Chavez Oakland 3B 20
1985 Donnie Moore CAL RP 19
1993 Paul Molitor Toronto 1B 19

1. 1999 Fred McGriff TB 1b 4R 339/436/593 vs righties, career high .405 obp, .310 ba, 30 2b, 32 hr, a different type of McGriff card, nice addition to the Rays undermanned group of hitters, Tampa native and original D-Ray, let's bring the Crime Dog home! https://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/3384/1999/1/1999
2. 1968 Andy Messersmith CAL S/R - We can't seem to get enough votes for the 69 card, so how about his BEST card?

Nolan was plagued by arm trouble throughout his injury shortened career, but still was lifetime 110-70 .611 with a career 3.08 ERA. A good reverse RHSP at 3L. Smoky needs a card that represents how good of a hitter he was. This card will be a great platoon card for small ball teams.

Longtime Cardinal and spark plug for the GasHouse Gang. Led League in Runs and Steals. Looks like he'd be an outstanding small ball player. Much better than 2.45m card, Every bit as good vs LHP as that 2.83m 3L card, plus hits RHP.
