100 Win Curse? Is it real? Post your numbers ...

The following is only for ATG8 teams.

I have had 53 100+ win teams in ATG 8.

10 were eliminated in the semi's
14 were eliminated in the finals
29 won the league championship

19% lost in the semi's
81% made at least the finals
54.7 % got rings

I believe that these results strongly argue against a 100 win curse, although when a 100+ win team loses the semifinals, the loss becomes seared in one's memory as an unfair travesty and is thus more likely to influence one's perception that a 100 win curse exists.

I think you will find this stats pretty typical- However most of us have a much smaller sample size and that is why it appears skewed.
I have had 5 100 win teams with 4 championships and one finals loss

I have had 606 ATG8 teams

433 of the teams have made post season = 71%

of the 433 teams 368 had sub 100 wins and 65 had 100+ wins

Sub 100 win teams = 368

23% = 85 lost finals
40% = 147 won finals

For me it's not a dramatic difference.....my percentage for finals wins is slightly better, but not to what I would expect...like 55% to 60% chamipionship rate for 100+ win teams.

this rate is WORSE than my sub 100 win teams ! Someone explain that one to me

I have only had "4" 100 win teams so not much of a sample but 3 have lost in the semis and 1 has won a championship so a dismal 25% rate for me

6 teams with 100 wins

3 champs
2 finals losses
1 quarterfinals loss

In individual cases, it’s cruel luck. More generally, it’s confirmation bias.

1 won it all
2 lost in finals
4 lost semis

leaving me a tad bit bitter

Went to look. 11 teams over 100 or more wins out of 163 teams.2 title. 2 lost final. 7 lost in semi

7 semi losses tall guy 84 wins. Flaggia 93.crapgame ken 85. Tomwistar 88. 13 baseball 86. Gregory sellgren 83. Hackra 84.

19 teams:

-7 won title
-3 Lost Finals
-9 Lost semi-finals

Most painful one was a 106 win team in the semifinals of the Barnstormers a few years back that got swept out of the semis. I do believe that my typical team of very heavy hitting, light on D light on pitching is more susceptible to losing quick or, conversely, winning a title with a team that has no business winning it. But as was said earlier, that might be confirmation bias.
