I was raised in Winter Haven, FL and from the time I was born till the mid-1980s the Boston Red Sox trained there so I have always loved the Red Sox. Back then there were no Rays or even Marlins. The closest team to me was in Atlanta. I am still a Red Sox fan even though the Rays are now only just over an hour's drive away (with no traffic). I am biased like you and think my team's announcers are the best in baseball. I love to hear Jerry Remy on the NESN broadcasts when Boston is playing on the MLB channel.

Who I can't stand is Brian Anderson (former Diamondbacks SP) when I have to suffer to listening to the Rays broadcasts when Boston plays them. His partner is Dwayne Staats who is bearable but Brian Anderson is horrible.

As far as players on my favorite team...JBJ is an incredible fielder in CF but if you can't hit above .225 you are a liability no matter how many great plays you can make. I'm ready to move on from him.

LMB, I agree about Bill's post being a great one. I also live in Central Florida & am a Red Sox fan. I am bias like you and feel we have the best announcing team. I do prefer when it is Jerry Remy & Dave O'Brien, Eck gets on my nerves sometimes.

I am not ready to give up on JBJ, his glove is phenomenal & when he gets hot with his bat, watch out! Swihart was the POS I was ready to and happy we parted with.

Well I get to listen to the broadcasts of the Red Sox games both on Radio and TV being from RI. Jerry Remy is by far THE WORST broadcaster I've ever heard. I want to listen to game information, not personal golf matters, birthdays, personal activities, self promotions, etc. It's bad enough when its a 1 or 2 run game, but once a team is 4 or 5 runs ahead, the silliness begins and the game itself becomes secondary, if non-existent.

Well, I live in Boise, ID....so yes, it's the Mariners who are a majority of games that are on TV. However, the MLB channel shows lots of games and I love MLB's coverage of multiple game updates at night, even though they don't have a particular game they are showing.

Grew up listening to Jack Brickhouse when living in southern Wisconsin. The Cubbies!! Then the Brewers showed up in '69, but I don't recall many of their games on TV, even though they were the closest team. I have no idea who their announcers were. WGN showed just about every Cubs game, so it was easy to be a fan. Perhaps it's nostalgia, but it seems like the announcers in the 60s, 70s, and even early 80s were more fun to listen to.

Since then, I lived in Kansas City in the late 80s, Denver in the mid 90s, Phoenix from '99 to '05, and Minneapolis from '06 to '13. No announcer really sticks out from my Royals/Rockies/DBacks/Twins experiences. However, a shoutout to Blyleven with the Twins. He's not great, but he is intriguing at times.

Although I don't think he does many games anymore (thank God) the national broadcast color guy I hate the most is Rick Sutcliffe. He thinks everyone is an All-Star and deserves to be in the HOF. Have the courage to say this or that player or team isn't very good. Stop with the "I know he is only hitting .183 right now but all he needs is regular playing time".

As for Broadcasters I enjoy from other teams. Bob Uecker is awesome of course. I also want to give props to the Orioles team of Gary Thorne and Jim Palmer. I think they are fair and enjoyable to listen to.

Jon Miller is a big Strat fan and also a good one for the Giants.

I have MLB package, so I see a lot of different teams. The biggest POS I "get" to watch is easily Rancid Odor of Texas Rangers. He defines POS!

I live in WNY (Buffalo area) I have MLB station plus I buy MLB extra innings but MLB has some ridiculous black out rules even though we are more than 200 miles away from Cleveland and Pittsburgh we are blacked out from any of their game on the extra innings package as well as Yankees and Mets (but get them on yes and SNY) ,I miss listening to Vin Scully on west Coast Dodger games

Yes, they have a very inflated opinion of what constitutes "Local" for their blackout rules.
