One of the greatest pleasures I get out of this simulation game is when a low salary player of mine has a once-in-a-lifetime type of season. Now this isn't one of my players, but I still get a vicarious thrill out of a season like this. After 156 games, I'm pretty sure this high value LH outfielder is going to hit over .400. Of course it helps that over 90% of his at bats have been against RH pitchers, but still it's quite an achievement!
It's amazing as well his OBP isn't much higher than the BA. With no walks on the hitters card, that tells me he was extremely lucky - to get a sizable chunk of his dice rolls on the hitter card.
He also shows up as the league leader in pinch-hit batting average, so I assume he didn't start every game, maybe in a platoon at the start of the season.
