Most of those players are in the ATG set. In the initial first 2-3 years of ATG, ATG was made up of Team rosters from great teams of the past like you mentioned. The players from those teams made up the player pool.
So, the title All-Time Greats referred to All-Time Great TEAMS.
That's why, every so often, someone with no knowledge of the past of ATG will say, "Ernie Andres is not an ALL-TIME GREAT! Why is he in the set?"
He is in ATG because the 1946 Red Sox were in the All-Time Greats set way back in ATG1.
