Anyone want to take over as new gm for struggling franchise

PostSat Dec 21, 2019 8:47 am

My team is terrible. The league has a fun concept - no player over 4.5 million and a 999 mm cap.
Bad news is my team is epically bad (11 and 25) and I can’t figure out how to fix it. Good news it that the 999 cap gives any new GM a lot of flexibility and it’s early in the season. More Bad news is that the pool of feee agents is weak because of the 4.5 mm cap.
If you give me a couple of sentences as to how you would improve the team I’ll let you call the shots.
Let me know.

Cannot see the FA pool, but your pitching needs improvement, especially the pen! Also not enough obp guys to set the table for the power hitters you have. Being specific here is very hard without seeing who is still available. Don't give up, make some changes and run with it, even day to day if you have to.

Thoughts on these free agent relievers? They are the best free agents available.

Mantei, Ellis, Witasic & Aguilera are better fits than Roebuck and Wilcy Moore. Also if Urbina is available I would use him or Tim Scott over Honeycutt. Also the only starter I like is Duren. For the most part, your righties need to be slightly better against lefties without surrendering many ballpark homers and pick lefty starters who are better against righthanded hitters. I would probably pare down the bullpen to five guys, keep Duren as a starter, pick up two righties and two lefties following the above basic idea. Then pick up a lefty starter who is very good vs. lefthanders and a righty who is very good against righthanders as spot starters vs. heavy left or right based teams.

I would definitly pick up Klippstein as a strong spot starter against heavy left handed teams.

You can post the whole league if you post a link to the league page. This would allow us to give advice in relation to your whole league.

But rather than post it here for all to see, which might raise objections among some of the other managers in the league, you can send the league link in a pm to folks who have responded to your plea.

Just go to the league (standings) page and post in the link from that league. Your link should look something like this.

You need to make moves to match up with your opponents every night. This is a league that needs a lot of work and close attention. tonight your have Klippstein going against mostly Righties. Drop a hitter or a pitcher perhaps Thurman for a right killer. Also your bullpen
