Ha. Five *whole* years ago? No.... Way.... That long ago? My and my bro were playing that strategy a decade ago. Anyway, the good news is there are 44 Star SP over 9.47m. Of those 44, I love 8, and like 10 more. I am not worried about getting my big boys, and truly, I am flattered in advance for everyone copying my style. I am really bummed out that 80M cap didn't win. I had a 110 win team ready to go with no starting SP over 0.85M. This would have been the rotation everyone was copying two years from now, but sigh, we have to wait another year for that boy to come out and play.

It's quite possible I was doing it even further back than that, I'm thinking ATG2 or ATG3 possibly. I doubt we'll never know who "invented" the strategy honestly, but it goes back more than a couple of years that's for sure.

In fairness, it was ATG3 but YES that team did suck ass.

Thanks guys. I'm glad to know the origin of the strategey. I didn't really think I "invented" it, I can only say I came up with the idea independently and didn't copy anyone. I do remember early in using it , someone in one of my leagues messaged me to say "that strategy only works at $100M". I did it because I just like pitching . Always have. Almost all of my all time favorite ballplayers are pitchers.

Also, congrats on making the finals Rich. I thought I had Doug's Winger, alas not to be. Cristano probably would have beat me in the finals anyway. Learned some stuff this year though.

I had a lot of later success with it in ATG 8's early days at 80 mill. Cheap sluggers in Polo. Won multiple rings in a row with it, maybe 3 or 4. So it can definitely work at 80 mill as well.

So Chrissie believes that he has developed a killer new strategy for winning 110 games at 80M, with a minimal expenditure on pitching.

Now that both Rich and Matt are in the Big Show, perhaps they will show some of their more successful 80M teams based on precisely the alleged strategy Chrissie hopes to unveil next year, just to clarify who invented what.

The reality is that league context plays a critical role in how many wins a team amasses.

Here is an example of a decent team that took full advantage of the league context and barring a complete collapse over the next 15 games should rewrite the ATG 100M record books.
