Has anyone ever done anything stupid like this for their default rotation?
#1 - STUD S* (4 day starter) #2 - STUD S (5 day starter) #3 - Blank #4 - Blank #5 - Blank
I'm wondering what HAL would do ... I'm assuming #1 would start every 4 days regardless of anything else and #2 would start every 5th day unless #1 is scheduled in which case he'd be pushed back a game. So what would HAL do the remaining days? Would he pick the pitcher best suited for that night's opponent? Or would he simply pick the most expensive available starter?
I'm toying with a crazy idea giving HAL a lot of options after the first two and wanna see what people think HAL would do. If you've ever put no rotation or no per game starters for a team (perhaps accidentally) you might have the answer as well.
1 & 2 will pitch at every opportunity they are eligible and he will fill in with the highest salaried other starting pitcher that is eligible to start. the # 1 pitcher will start over the #2 starter when both become eligible
Unless you have more than 5 starting pitchers he could not shuffle much around. If you had 6 or 7 starting pitchers you or Hal could choose between a couple of guys for your nightly opponents.
