20.2 Nominations are Open!

PostSat Feb 15, 2020 10:00 am

Welcome to the 20.2 Nomination thread.

All MLB cards from 1871-2018 are eligible per Strat
(2019 cards are eligible starting with 20.4)

Our 20.2 parameters are as follows.
1. One nomination per member only
2. When we hit 40 unique nominations we will begin voting (after Andy posts card analysis)
3. We will have one poll of 50 cards; the top 23* will be added
4. Any ties for the final spot will be added in 20.3
5. Next "x" highest vote getters will get another shot in 20.2
6. Note: 300 PA/100 IP/50 IP minimums now in place

Please submit nominations in a 'Year Player Team Position Comments' format.

First we'll use Spahn, then we'll use Sain, Then an off day followed by rain. Back will come Spahn followed by Sain, And followed we hope by two days of rain! I've already nominated Ordonez, but the 1948 Sain, his best year, would be a nice addition!

How about Jim Scott CWS 1913 starting pitcher--1.90 ERA and 1.08 WHIP despite 20-21 record? I'm eventually going to make a nomination everyone can get enthusiastic about

I would like to see Pete Rose get his 1979 card added. He was a 1B 3 e9. He stole 20 bases, had a .331/.419/.430 line and played in all 163 games as a Philly.

I know he is unlikely to be chosen since he didn't play in the 1870s, and he won't be used in leagues with a cap higher than 100 million. But I will try anyway. I kind of feel like the process is a farce.

There are no cards of Pete Rose where he can steal bases, play 1B, or as a Philly.

PS. Sorry, I am posting from my phone so I can't copy and paste and add Rose to the list in the correct format as above. I will try to do it later unless someone is kind enough to do it for me.
