1938 Buddy Myer - 2b 2e16 | .336 / .454 / .465 --> Super-high OBP + better fielding compared to his 1935 card

The Cubs answer to Ichiro. Not impressed? ...well, this is the Cubs after all.

1967 Adolfo Phillips - CF-3e8(+1)
Centerfielder from the Cubs 1967 return to glory season.
1919 Babe Ruth - RF/LF 2e1(-4) - with only 1 error, this is a great fielding card. Ruth's last season playing for the Boston Red Sox.
1924 Babe Ruth - RF 1e14(-3) - Ruth's only year with 1 rating in the outfield. 4R balance rating for the batting card. Unlike Ruth's other cards, the 1924 is from SOM's more recent deluxe sets.
1934 Babe Ruth - RF/LF 4e12(+1) - Poor fielding will make this a discount Babe Ruth card, but still with the power and high OBP we've come to expect from the Bambino - selected from the 1934 Deluxe set.
I saw some discussion elsewhere about limiting the number of cards each player can have in the set. Should that apply to the Bambino? ...I think not.
1970 Rusty Staub - RF-3e5(-4)
30 HR, 112 BB, 681 AB+BB (he plays all 162 games). Right now, we have a bad fielding card (1969) and a bad hitting card (1973) for Rusty. The 1970 card is a high OBP solution. It's also a reverse platoon card (L 2L). There's a very good hitting card with 3 ranges from 1971, but unfortunately that card has 18 errors.

.290 / .406 / .493 - best fielding, best base-stealing, and injury-proof Morgan card. Kills righties (L 4R) + PLAYS ALL 162 GAMES (687 AB + Walks)

’80 – .303 / .420 / .399 – 117 Walks, 100 Steals, and never gets hurt! - R 2L | LF-2e7(0)
’81 – .319 / .408 / .437 – led the "Billyball" A’s to a surprise division title in a year he probably should have been named MVP - R E | LF-1e11(0)
1992 Gary Sheffield - 3b-2e19
.330 / 33 / 100 (started at 3B and won batting title for Padres) - yes, that's right - great fielding .330 hitter at 3B (card balance: R 2L)
1974 Joe Ferguson - Ca-3e5(0) T-7(pb-5)
.252 / .384 / .436 | Catcher from the mid-70s with power and a fine batting eye. 16 HR and 75 walks in 349 AB with balanced card (R 1L); also plays RF-4e6(-2)

.324 / 32 / 140 - a more moderately priced card from an SOM "Super Deluxe" season. Balanced batting card (R 1L) with Dimag's usual gold glove fielding
1954 Mickey Mantle - CF-2e11(-4)
.300 / .408 / .525 (also plays 2B, and SS) – balanced hitting card (S E) from Super Deluxe card set
1974 Reggie Jackson - RF-1e13(-5)
The follow-up to his MVP season, .289 / 29 / 93 - strong reverse-platoon (L 3L); the only Reggie card with gold glove (RF1) fielding
1989 Mickey Tettleton - Ca-3e1(+1) T-3(pb-1)
26 HR & 73 walks in only 411 AB; balanced (S E) card – he had a strong argument for MVP in 1989 Orioles miracle turnaround season
1956 Minnie Minoso - LF-2e9(-2) and 1b-4e25, 3b-4e37
.316 / .425 / .525 (plays LF, RF, 3B, 1B)- an underrated player who has a good case for the HOF. Deserves a better card in the ATG set. Strong vs. righties (R 2R)
Also consider: 1951 - .326 / .422 / .500 (plays 6 different positions and best base-stealing card); LF and RF-3e14(-1) | 3b-4e32 | 1b-4e30
