You don't understand. The rule that says relievers must sit after a long outing is NOT a new rule of the SOM Game. It's been the rule of law of the board game since at least 15 years. It applies from even longer on the CD-ROM game, and this rule has always been the rule of law of the internet game.

The 365 game was the only one that did not apply the rule.

In contrast, while it is not realistic to use Bonds in Coors Field when the card was built for dead-ball AT&T, it is within the rules across all platforms

After they get rid of the super relievers, maybe next they can get rid of the 100 HR cleanup hitter? ... Just saying why is a super reliever any different than any other players doing stuff that doesn't happen in real life. And why couldn't a hybrid reliever pitch 200 innings in real life?

I think the reason super relievers bother people but a 100 at bat player in real life logging 700 at bats in Strat O-Matic doesn't bother them is because most people don't know how to get 200 innings out of a reliever. If everyone could do it, people would be less bothered.

Stack em. Stack at least five, but better, six or seven roles for your best reliever. That's how it was done. I think most players knew how to do it. Not all players, but many. Avoid using closer max rule, and then you get your best pitcher pretty much exactly 108 games (two appearances in pretty much all 54 series of the regular season).

Stack em for a high end (at least R3, but also R4 and R5) reliever. Murray, Adams, Sutter, among others.

Closer
Set up
Tied and 9th
Tied and late
Behind and late
middle
blow out

Then stack the same six or seven roles for a 2.5 to 3.5m R3/R4/R5 reliever.

Even now the system is no longer working the way it did. I'm getting my 3rd (and even 4th) relief pitcher come in when they should not. I'm not complaining--if anything, it is a breath of fresh air. And my opponents are experiencing the same new game environment. A new meta game environment will be great.

Strat says they removed the new reliever-code that strayed into ATG (was meant only for 20xx for now), but they didn't (at least not fully). I personally like the change. Evolve or die.

When I first started, the platooning did not work well.

One of my favorite things to do was to start 5 cheap lefties, then come in with righty long relief. HAL wouldn't try to switch hit in the mid innings, so one was able to get very favorable matchups in the 4th through 7th innings. Even if the opponent had only one platoon it was an advantage. If they had several, it became a great boost. Of course the crap lefty starters put me behind most every game, so I always had a long ways to go to catch up.

They fixed that. And now they changing the way relief works in the game. Strat is gradually addressing these deficiencies. It's been slow, yes, but their willingness to make these changes makes the game better and better.

For me another issue that has to much influence on the game is the ballpark effect. I would like to see ballparks become part of the draft that have a price attached with the extreme parks on either end grouped [like they are in BS tour] and priced accordingly most extreme at 5 pct, of the cap being used, moderate 2.5 pct and neutral 0 pct. the auto draft would not allow two teams to have the same ballpark but your selection would always remain within the grouping of the ballpark you drafted. The result would always be league with 12 different ballparks so if you want Bonds to play in Coors your are forced to pay a price .

I believe the game went sideways with the introduction of ballpark effects and clutch in the 1985 set. Don't get me wrong, I still love the game , but the results were much more realistic before the ballpark effects
