The new bullpen rules don't affect past seasons.

Small sample, very small. 2 teams started tonight and I was happy that Encarnacion hit 4 HR's in one game with Luplow hitting 3 in the same game with my first team followed by Aquino hitting 4 against me in 1 game in the other League. 28 HR's in 6 games 19 by me and 9 by the other teams. Played at Rogers and Wrigley. Buckle up it is going to be a bumpy ride as of now.

Wow! Love how you got 93 good if not great innings and 10 wins out of a .50 pitcher.

That's why I love looking at your teams. You're not afraid to get creative.

You won the first league I was ever in (2104) and I've been keeping up with you ever since.

Congratz!

300 used to be exceptional.

One week on from this post are some teams still on track for 600 HR's?

It’s slowly moving back to the low middle 500s.

I think that limiting the relief pitcher roles is a good thing. However, I think they should be limited to THREE different roles, not 2, or the previous 5 or 6.

Two roles per pitcher means you better be carrying like 7 relief pitchers... Seriously. I think they went overboard a bit, because two is too few. Maybe if they mandated that we carry at least six relievers two roles would be the answer. Otherwise I think limiting them to three roles would be perfect.

Most relievers can pitch, when behind, when tied, and one other role, unless they are a closer, in which case they can also be a setup man or TIED and 9TH Plus.

J-PAV, you go ahead and carry eight starting pitchers, you can get away with doing that and winning 89 games (at least some of the time)... But beginners and the people in between beginners and you should not be carrying more than five starting pitchers.
I meant particularly with the brand new set and brand bullpen new rules.... So those teams before 2019 are irreverent in terms of my statement.

By the way, why don't you do live drafts J-PAV?

Match-up pitching worked long before Matt Strahm, so I don’t see any reason why it can’t work going forward. When the time comes, I’ll probably get around to fooling with it. Finessing how the new bullpen works best with that set up might take some figuring out though. :geek:

Actually, I did just do a live draft. It was the 2019 Players Championship.

starter
0 W
0 L
0 S
6.0 IP
1 H
0 ER
0 R
1 BB
6 SO

I didn't set this starter for anything but he was a (6). He gave up 1 hit and 1 walk and was pulled after 6/ I was up 1 - 0. Seems to me as the RP has importance now just like in real life. Kudos to Strat but I have much to learn like Darth Vader is my Father.
