1. Once Upon a Time in the West:
Henry Fonda, who was always portrayed as a "good guy, fatherly type" character in Hollywood, plays an absolute badass.

2. Midnight Cowboy:
At the time, this movie was rated X, and was the only one to ever win "Best Picture" It would be a stretch to be rated R these days.

3. Unforgiven
4. Goodfellas
5. El Camino

Chase wanted us to list Comedies first. All good films ( well can't speak for the last one) but if you are counting any of these as comedic, you have a VERY dark sense of humor. ;)

Ah misread the post, my bad.

I'm going to post the 5 comedies I never skip when it comes on a rerun. Might not be my favorites, but I seem to rewatch over and over in cable, never changing the channel.

Dodgeball
Something about Mary
Blazing Saddles
Spaceballs
Army of Darkness

UNDERRATED
Prisoners- gyllenhall/jackman. Crafty, put my emotions on a roller coaster especially as a parent
Day of the Jackal- the original 1973 movie not the Willis/Pottier garbage
Headhunters- quirky and funny, slightly Tarantino-esque euro movie
A Quiet Place- found myself “thinking” how I could exist in this situation
No Way Out-Costner and Hackman, a little more well known but underrated still

Back to the Comedy......

I agree with Midnight Run that was posted earlier. Grodin is Great.
The Jerk - "That's all I need" is a catchphrase at my house.
This is Spinal Tap; Best in Show - Improv at it's best supervised by Christopher Guest
The Princess Bride - The Hero's Journey with pratfalls.
Some Like it Hot - Marilyn!
