Ever See this? SP gets removed before facing a hitter?

Okay HAL never ceases to amaze me. Anyone ever see this?

Other team had Beuhler hurt so HAL was using a RP to start (Biddle). Hes a LHP, so my LHP lineup was there.

BEFORE HE THROWS A PITCH HAL subs in Bedrosian...a RHP thus burning my platoons for later in the game. Should be noted: Biddle was rested, so that wasn't the issue. Also, he has several LH relief pitchers, so when Bedrosian came in, and my platoon guys PH, they were stuck there after he changed back to a LHP two innings later.

My team likely would not have won anyway, but still certainly an anomaly, and not to mention: unless a pitcher gets hurt (which he did not), MLB rules state the starter has to face one hitter (until this year., then it's three) So this was even a violation of the MLB rules.

I haven't seen it before--I'm sure someone else has, but it shouldn't happen.

Th SP should pitch till he hits 3 innings or 5 runs allowed--but with these new 1 inning starters and rules--everything is screwy.

I dont know how a RP was set to start but that is my guess. Doesn't appear that any of your SP was injured at the time. If you were at home and your pitcher hit the injury roll (6-12 I think) on the other teams DH then that would be why.
Other than starting a RP I dont know why.

It happened to me once. Weird as heck, and never saw it again. I think Vande (berg) was the SP

I saw it a few times last year in the Daily game, always when a reliever was scheduled to start.

this happened to me last week in ATG. Same thing, he faces no batters, HAL brings in opposite hand and burns all my platoons. I even ended up having a pinch hitter as my lead off hitter in the 1st.
