I will try to get the final rules posted at some point today. Up to you whether you want to start drafting before then. There shouldn't be any surprises.

Any thoughts to having the team selection be one AL team and one NL team?

And also:
The BC Manager wrote:So, there will be a draft after the 2nd season. Should that be based on the standings (and playoffs) from season 2 or cumulative standings of the two seasons in the decade? The former would be simpler, but the latter option might be more fair.

My thoughts would be sorted by least credits won over the 2 seasons, followed by least to most wins over the 2 seasons. Everyone wants some level of success & reward. We play for fun, but it's more fun when you do well.

I like your suggestion for draft order, FALCON.

As for the one team per league suggestion, I'm not in favour of it given it will further tie everyone's hands in putting a competitive team together. But we could entertain it if there's a strong appetite for this twist.

Still waiting for a randomizer.

I don't feel real strongly one way or the other. I was in one of these leagues with basically the same format as we're talking about a couple of years ago and they did one AL and one NL team. But I really don't care either way.

Ok, I have some questions. Let's say that I draft the Orioles and someone else drafts the Reds. Initially, Frank Robinson is given to the team that wins him in the autodraft - is that correct? Could the Orioles and Reds make a pre-autodraft trade for rights to Robinson? (side note: for historical reasons, it would be nice if I had the Orioles and traded the Reds rights to Pappas, Dick Simpson and Jack Baldschun for Robinson). Suppose the Orioles get Robinson - can they trade him to any team, or only to the Reds? Suppose the Orioles have Robinson in Season 1, does that mean that they get to keep him for season 2? And if I keep the Orioles franchise for the 70s, do I also get to keep Robinson into the 70s? Also, if I trade Robinson to the Dodgers-Twins (if that is allowed) in season 1, do the Dodgers-Twins get to keep Robinson in season 2?

Ok, here's the randomizer, as provided in the ILC (random draw screws me again):

4, 12, 9, 11, 5, 3, 2, 7, 6, 8, 10, 1

So the draft order is:

1. Killermarc
2. Ducky
3. LMBombers
4. pacoboy
5. franky35
6. RICHARDGAGNON
7. Salmonbellies
8. FALCON29
9. bigdinkent

You can trade your rights to a player. You can trade a player to any team, no matter if he ever played for that team or not.

If the Orioles win FRob in the Auto draft in season 1 that does not mean that they automatically get him for season 2. If the Orioles traded FRob in season 1 to the Yankees. The Yankees would only own the Orioles rights to him for season 2 I would think and the Reds owner could try again to win him in the Season 2 auto draft.

Once we change decades all former trades mean nothing. It is all a brand new game at that point and trading can begin again.

I'd recommend waiting to pick your team until all the rules are hashed out, but if you're eager feel free to proceed.

Good questions, franky. I have answers but won't have time to post them for a little bit. Having said that, it looks like LM's responses are all correct.

I personally think trades should be limited to the season we play in. Carrying over rights to another season just complicates things.

Example above, the owner with the Orioles throws the Orioles back after trading Robinson to the Yankees during season 1. Then who's going to pick the Orioles w/o a chance for Robinson? So we have to remember that only the Reds and Yankees can shoot for him in the auto draft? No, way too complicated. KISS is the motto :)
