Garcia’s Blog 4/7/20 ATG 9

PostTue Apr 07, 2020 11:52 pm

Hello again gang!

It’s time to roll out a new version of ATG and dump the old ATG 8 to the recycle bin because we don’t plan on fixing anything else with it now that we will have ATG 9. Plenty of questions have risen concerning pricing of players and bullpen usage. The 5-team pack still remains at $79.99 and you’ll get plenty of usage out of your it! So when you receive that government check please spend wisely on that 5-team pack!

The bullpen. When your starting pitcher gets blown out after 2 innings, you have to rely on the pen to finish the game and hopefully your hitters can rally for 8 runs to come back. That’s probably not going to happen since your favorite players are now priced over your budget and you will have to depend on 50 cent players to bat 4th. We told you there would be pricing changes and you didn’t believe us.

Managers will now have the choice of pitching to 1 batter only instead of Mike Garman or Frank Linzy pitching to Mike Schmidt and then continue facing Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, and Mickey Mantle just to finish the inning. Just click on the ‘one batter only’ block on the pitching strategy page. This will unfortunately deplete the bullpen, so have extra relievers handy. We have also added other options like ‘certain pitchers unavailable’ which means a 4R pitcher won’t pitch in League Park ‘34 to Eddie Mathews, Willie McCovey, and Babe Ruth.

Pitchers like Murray and Sutter and others will be limited to a specific number of innings per game... like maybe 2 per series. Batters get thrown out of the game for arguing third strike calls. So how come pitchers don’t get thrown out for arguing ball four calls, it only stands to reason the opposite must also be true.

A federal judge has dismissed the case against the Redsox and Astros for sign-stealing. That is good news for you! As one of the upgrades we built in an application in ATG 9 for teams to steal signs during critical moments of the game shifting the advantage to your defense in getting that all important out with runners on base. Also included is pitcher/catcher sign stealing. Know whats coming! For this application, send $79.99 and we’ll thrown in 5 new teams for FREE! To counter these unscrupulous acts, we offer another application to protect against sign-stealing, again at $79.99 and with that, 5 free teams too! Ya can’t miss!

It’s really good to be back and hope everyone is healthy and have fun with ATG 9.

Sincerely,
Delivery Boy...

Hilarious. Yeah can't wait to see ATG9 and how people adjust to the new bullpen settings.

You mean this hint buried in the announcement of something else?
"This will be the first tournament to play under the upcoming new version of All-Time Greats which features all-new player salaries. "

Dunno about you but when I want people to know bout something:

ANNOUNCING A NEW ATG - COMING OVER THE SUMMER or whatever similar.

I hear what you're saying, but honestly I noticed it and posted about it like 10 days ago. Maybe they just don't want to create a bunch of enthusiasm for fear of getting lambasted for not getting it out there in a timely fashion???

Actually the only thing that says "9" is the Barnstormers 2020 page at:

https://365.strat-o-matic.com/tournament/37

Again, we were told mid April so let's please all stay at home and remain calm.

Thank you, and yes I am healthy. Not quite sure about announcements on ATG 9 and what exactly is the problem with communication on launching dates to everyone. We can handle it.

I’m finding out I don’t miss MLB as much as I thought. What have I been doing? Sweat equity around the homestead and it is beginning to pay off.

Sincerely,
Delivery Boy...
