franky's questions:

Let's say that I draft the Orioles and someone else drafts the Reds. Initially, Frank Robinson is given to the team that wins him in the autodraft - is that correct?

Correct

Could the Orioles and Reds make a pre-autodraft trade for rights to Robinson?

Yes

Suppose the Orioles get Robinson - can they trade him to any team, or only to the Reds?

To any team but that team would need to keep him on the roster or he could still be claimed by the Reds.

Suppose the Orioles have Robinson in Season 1, does that mean that they get to keep him for season 2?

No. They compete for Robinson with the Reds again in the autodraft.

And if I keep the Orioles franchise for the 70s, do I also get to keep Robinson into the 70s?

If you keep the Orioles for the 70s you would compete for Robinson with the teams who have the Dodgers and the Angels (the other teams on his 70s card).

Also, if I trade Robinson to the Dodgers-Twins in season 1, do the Dodgers-Twins get to keep Robinson in season 2?

Yes, though they would still have to compete with the Reds for Robinson in season 2. The Orioles can't trade away the Reds' rights to Robinson.

It is possible the Orioles and Dodgers could agree to a trade that is for one season only - that involves the shared rights to Robinson returning to the Orioles for season 2. This would need to be made explicit at the time of the trade.

I hope that helps.

Question about ballparks? Do we use one of our team's ballparks?

The rules state:

Got it. Picking 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th isn't necessarily an advantage. As a matter of fact, those are probably the toughest spots to be in. The 69 expansion teams essentially have no players of their own and very few players at all so the first four spots will be playing with one roster versus two. Should be quite the challenge.

Assuming that the expansion teams don't get picked earlier. The Brewers or Royals might be tempting to someone looking towards the 70s. I have to say the draft isn't going the way I would've predicted so far. That's not a criticism of any picks - what do I know?
