I'm the commissioner of a live draft league that starts tomorrow. We're supposed to select a ballpark by midnight ET tonight, and one of the managers hasn't done that yet. I sent him a message earlier today but so far nothing. If it passes the deadline without making a choice, my understanding is SOM picks the park for him. Here's my dilemma. Apparently it's possible for me to select the ballpark for him. What if it's 11:55 pm and I have more confidence I can analyze the roster and make a better choice than Hal? Is that the ethical thing to do, or do I sit back and do nothing?
I agree with kaviksdad, I would do nothing. Not only are you not obligated to pick him a good ballpark, I think it would be very wrong for you to do so.
Glad that worked out. But... I live in NW Georgia and we lost power due to extreme bad weather including 4 tornado's touching down all around us in Georgia and Chattanooga, TN! If I had been in this league I would not have been able to even access Strat. We had almost no cell reception as well as no wifi. Please be aware that you never know what people are going through, a little patience can go a long way!
No, it wasn't me in the draft, I was just pointing out that many were affected by the storms last night, specifically in the south, so please don't rush to judgement on someone who is late with a pick. We are fine, however relatives and friends and lots of aquaintances lost homes and businesses last night.
What surprised me the most was that, as commissioner, I'm even allowed to pick someone's stadium for them. That just doesn't sit well with me, too much power that can be abused.
