does anyone know

what the SI stands for on 1985 year cards. some cards will have SI 1-9, lineout which is explanatory, but the same card will have just SI with nothing following? is it a single or what? I've found the SI only just on hitter's cards. Willie McGee and Gary Carter's cards r good examples if you wish to check it out.

I read somewhere that most of the 1985 cards have those misprints...in the case of McGee, his 2-4 v lhp should be single 1-8, & his 3-7 v rhp should be single 1-4 (i'm not sure what the outs are).

They are misprints, hopefully they are fixed by the release of ATG 9!

All the 1985 cards have clean singles present on various 2 - 12 results. They vary from player to player. Even players on the same team will have the clean singles on different result numbers. These aren't misprints. I recall reading that some aspect of the card chance algorithm was done differently in 1985 and the clean singles had to be added afterwards to bring the card set into alignment for ATG. I played with the 1985 card set when it came out in '86 and those singles weren't there.

Many pitchers have them, too. But, they do seem more prevalent on the hitters' cards.
