Also I can complain all I want and you can't stop me, but if you are ever in Cleveland,Ohio you are most welcome to give it your best college try.

Usually I defend SOM but this ATG8 Card Nomination process is a phucking joke. Bunch of racist old white guys.

Steve F is so mathematically challenged he once tried to tell me that if a roulette wheel comes up black five times in a row, there is a better than 50% chance of it being black on the 6th role. OK BOOMER.

I want more players from the 1800s, when more than the ball had to be white.

Yet great players like Michael Brantley have no card. That's some serious B.S.

How old are you guys, 100? Why the affinity for so many players from the 1800s and the all white eras? Surely even you boomers are too young to have grown up with the pre war players?? Maybe not...

It appears the only one who is NOT color blind in this process is YOU.

I pushed for Sam Jethroe to get a card, and he got in. His actual stats probably wouldn't warrant a card, BUT because people heard how he was a star in the Negro Leagues, how he was at the same Red Sox tryout as Jackie Robinson and didn't get signed either, and how by the time he made the majors, he was a shadow of his former playing self, and GUESS WHAT? This community of boomers voted him in.

People are voting for cards and players, not for their skin color. YOU could nominate Brantley, I am pretty sure he'd get in.

I don't know of ANYONE who doesn't vote for a card because of skin color. That's beyond asinine to even suggest.

Baseball has a rich history, but some of the game took place in a time where some people weren't allowed to play because of their skin color. I can't think of anyone here who approves of what happened.

Instead of every post being a name-calling rant, why don't you JOIN this community and help us enjoy ALL THE GREATS who played the game we love, instead of just coming on here every three weeks to bash people YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW. Come to think of it, that attitude is one of the main things that perpetuated racism in baseball, people not willing to reach across their differences, be civil, and work TOGETHER.

Well said Andy. This guy is off his rocker. And I've many times thought that he is probably the most racist person here with the possible exception of Rebel Mike or whomever the guy was that would never have a non white player on his roster.

Im not a boomer-
Gen X'er.
and while there have been some racist issues with the 'all white' teams never thought that was an issue with the card nomination and voting process.
From what I can tell the biggest issue USED TO BE getting cards based on the name and not the actual stats- but that sure seems to have been fixed when Andy actual posts the stats prior to voting.

There's lots wrong with the company doing stuff on time or sometimes at all-
the card nomination process is one of the few things I wouldn't put in that category as the cards are always in way ahead of when som bothers to get to it.

On point Andy--thanks. Saved a lot of us the trouble of expressing a similar sentiment--you expressed it perfectly

Now we just need the 1970 Dennis Menke. He plays the entire infield and has a card like Grabarkowitz (same year too) with 3 defense and somewhat less power, but a better average.
