Phil, in light of the change to the arbitration rule my contracts are all the same except:

I'm offering relievers E.Diaz and C.Green Arb 2 instead of the $3M salary minimum, and

I'm offering Amir Garrett Arb 1 instead of the $2M salary minimum.

Thanks,
TN

Phil: I'm adding 2 more changes in addition to the above 3 changes.

I'm offering Arb 3 to SP Jon Gray and Arb 2 to OF Mallex Smith rather than releasing them.

I have input the changes for Paul_Long, oldmansmith2, and teamnasty based on the new arbitration rules.

I am changing Joe Ross from FA to ARB3.

If anyone else would like to change any contract offers let me know as soon as possible. I'm still waiting on contract offers from two teams. I'd like to wrap up and close the books on contracts by April 30th. After the books are closed, I will post a list of Free Agents available for the Supplemental Free Agent signing period beginning in August. You need cap space to participate. Ooops, I should have known that!

Phil, can we trade players now before the 4/30 final contract extension deadline, and then make pre deadline decisions on acquired players?

Section 8.04 TRADING: Teams can make trades with any team as long as the parameters of the salary cap are met. Teams may not name, “player to be named later” in any trade. Teams may not trade salary cap space. Trades can be agreed upon between two General Managers. Both teams must send in a confirmation for the trade to take effect.

Section 6.02 Each team must carry no more than a 40-man roster. In the event a transaction sends an owner's roster above the 40-man limit, said owner is allowed 1 day to release as many players as necessary to get back to the 40-man limit.
(a) However, the owner is responsible for the player’s salary for the duration of their contract.
(b) If an owner has less than 40 players due to uneven trades, the owner cannot bring his roster to the full 40 until a free agent signing period, whether winter or supplemental. (see player movement).

Section 10.09 All owners must have a full 40-man roster upon completion of the annual winter free agent signings.

Based on these three rules, especially 10.09, I would say that you can trade, but that you must make sure both teams remain below the salary cap and end up with 40 men on the roster.

and what about trading players during the season? it would change the contracts and free agents?

After April 30th all contracts will be in place, so nothing would change in that regard. If you trade for a player who becomes a free agent at the end of the season, you lose him.

yes. once we extend, arbitrate, etc...if we trade a guy the new owner picks up that contract/dealing.
