I picked Suter because I didn't see anything in the rules that a player needs to be carded in the pervious year. I am on the site and will monitor this to see if I am wrong. I will pick someone else if I am.

There are two things I see. The first one is under the Intial Draft:
2) Any carded player in the NL and Houston Astros within the 2012 set is eligible for selection.

The 2nd one is under General Rules:
10) To remain on a roster, each player must maintain his NL status in each year's newly released SOM online set. Any players that don't meet this requirement will not be eligible to remain on a roster and will be cut prior to Spring FA draft.

It's impossible for me to say what the intent was when the rules were written but based on these two rules I would say that a player would have to be carded to be on a roster.

If a more experienced member of this league has some insight into this matter I welcome their interpretation. Personally, I think it would be pretty unfair to lose a player because because he fails to get a card due to injuries

I read it as Suter is not eligible and if I am wrong I pick Yoan Lopez RP ARI . I would love to have Suter but when the Commish weighs in I will take Suter or Lopez.

I agree with the holding on to players if they lost their card. I think Edub clarified this when we talked about losing players in a League that had not much to work with from the start. We will see.

I second that. I do not believe the player should be lost due to injury. If we know he has a contract on a NL team and is rehabbing his way back, I think the owner needs to make the decision on whether to keep the player and sacrifice a roster spot. Or in this case, select a player that he will not be able to use and plan for the future.
