New Bullpen rules. Any effects to report?

I’m in a standard league where offense and Homer’s are up but not to the extreme degree observed by JPAv. With 37% of the season completed total homers project to around 2800 total or 238 per team. League ERA is 4.42. Complete games are WAY down . 18 total league wide

Just browsing around, last year you could probably expect 2000-2500 total league home runs. That might now be 3500-4000 in 2019 leagues, if my early teams continue to extrapolate out. They may not if we get a governor mechanism at work, or some other HAL demon-ware.

Halfway through, my first two leagues are now on pace for 3000-3300, with one team still tracking well into the 500s.

It is coming down a little.

It looks like SOM pegged the increase in HR's for the 2019 game compared to the 2018 game.

I'm in 2 Keeper Leagues that are 96 games into the season. Prorated for a full season they will average 3346 HR's.
In 2018 these 2 teams averaged 2755. That's an increase of 21.4%

Real baseball? 2018 - 5585 HR's for all teams for the season. 2019 - 6776. That's an increase of 21.3%

So given that HR's are up this year what are Autoleaguers and Tour folk (not that they would say lol) going to do?
4 Aces in a pitchers park.....speed team.....$15M staff in a hitters park.....all defense.....something new?

Pre-Card Draft Keeper League is seeing some stunning differences this year, compared to the first season last year. Extrapolating from 99 games out to 162, some of the projections are:

- HR up 36%, from 2542 to 3451
- Runs up 11%, from 8564 to 9493
- Stolen bases down 19%, from 760 to 615
- SLG pct. up from .418 to .464

- Strikeouts up 2%, from 17763 to 18118
- Blown saves up 15%, from 260 to 298
- Complete games down 83%, from 189 to 33
- Shutouts down 96%, from 45 to 2
- WHIP pretty stable, from 1.29 to 1.32
- ERA up from 4.16 to 4.67

This is only one league and YMMV, but those are some notable shifts in one year!

Also, it's probably irrelevant, but it's odd to see the correlation between SLG pct. and ERA!

At the 55% (90 game) mark the league I mentioned above has an ERA at 4.57 and we are now on pace to hit 2900+ hrs

After 90 games my 2019 league is on pace for 2,828 homers.

I last played 20xx in 2012, I think. I just started a 2019 team and kind of have no idea what I am doing. I saw this thread which intrigued me and I have a few questions based on some comments in this thread.

Was there some sense that complete games were down (by which I'm inferring that S6s and S7s are now less likely to finish off games) ?

Are folks using set up/closer for their #1 reliever and working back from there for the rest of the pen? Or does it make sense to try to get the best reliever into some other roles...? Any thoughts, theories, speculation, or humor about the new bullpen dynamics and approaches would be welcome.

Or maybe let Rehoboam decide--to chart the best course for all of us? I have no doubt Rehoboam (HAL) is smarter than me, so maybe leaving the bullpen roles blank is the best approach. I just need some Genre now...

PS I love having a small player set. It's a much different game--a nice change of pace from ATG.
