new cards are always welcome, but does the babe have to cost almost 1/4 or the cap of a standard $80M team?

if they don't want us to use him, why have him in the set or if they want us to play $200k leagues, why not just make that the standard league cap?

asking for a friend.

Pleasantly surprised that some of my favorite hitters actually declined in price. Appears that injuries and defense, two optional characteristics on most of my teams, are a bigger part of pricing and thus result in declines for mid-tier hitters that have bad D and are injury prone.

Also noticed that some of the lower priced 1 way relievers also declined in price - Sambito's better card dropped from 1M to 0.76.

I had noticed he didn't get a big price bump without noticing the RP only.

He actually went down in price.

With prices going up about 10% aggregate for most salaries....the $60 milion leagues are now more like $55 million leagues....OUCH!!!!!!!!

$80M leagues are now more like $72 million leagues!!...OUCH OUCH....and with RP far less cost effective....pitching strategies will completely change in sub $140 leagues....leading to more runs being scored....I thought that was something the community wanted to mitigate in smaller cap leagues??...in lower capped leagues have more realistic ERAs.....ironically I see the opposite occurring.

I'm trying to be positive here....I see my sub $100 cap leagues declining from 15% of my leagues to about 5% of my leagues and even more leagues $100 to $150 cap with the price increases and the hammering impact to pitching.

JMHO, lots of players who don't get used will be there in 80m (and less) leagues. If you want to build a good pitching team then hitting is really gonna suffer, and a good hitting team will be even worse on the pitching side.

I'm also stunned by the change (I hate change anyway) but I'm sure we'll all get used to it and adjust.

Ok its time to stop this misinformation.

Of 3,093 hitter cards in ATG8 803 saw price increases of 10% or more, 26% of the pool far from "most" salaries. At the same time 634 hitters saw a price decrease of 10% or more, or 20% of the hitter pool. In total, the entire hitter pool from ATG 8 dropped in salary by $55M in total or basically 20k a card. Effectively the pricing that existed in ATG 8 was simply moved around, some cards got more expensive while others decreased in price.

Now in terms of real dollars, 100 hitters had a salary movement of +/- $1M or more
Over 700 hitters had a salary movement of +/- $500k
And the median change in hitter prices was +/- $230k

I'm not going to go figure out the pitcher stats but in total those went down as well in salary from ATG8.

You all are entitled to your opinion on what strat got right or wrong with this release, but enough of the hyperbole and misinformation.

Thank you for this fact-based assessment. Of course, hyperbole and misinformation are what many people live for :)

Would you mind sharing how you calculated the net price changes so quickly? On the excel spread sheets there is no "NET" listed between ATG8 and ATG9, so how exactly did you do this?
