Would you mind sharing how you calculated the net price changes so quickly? On the excel spread sheets there is no "NET" listed between ATG8 and ATG9, so how exactly did you do this?

believe he is one of the pricing committee people -
soooo also what seems to me to be happening is the prices are based largely on 80 mil leagues-

nomadbrad,

I have computer software program that is much more powerful than excel, which allows me to join the ATG8 spreadsheet with the ATG9 spreadsheet by player, filter out the new additions and then add any math and analytics I want on top of it and I can do that in a matter of minutes.

But to get to the heart of what you are actually asking, it is no secret in the community that I assist SOM with pricing the 200X game and in this case ATG9. Those are some of the data points I use when analyzing changes to the set. I am not going to get into a debate on the end result, you are each entitled to your own opinion on that. I am obviously biased but I think the group did a great job with the final product and a lot more cards and playstyles should be opened to be successful with, but only time will tell.

ATG started based on an $80M format and that is first and foremost still the driver behind pricing today. However, with $100M being popular and the high cap leagues, there is a compromise which must be made at the higher priced cards, to accommodate both formats.

soooo, I may not always be that smart,- and frankly I don't know that I care all that much bc if something is mispriced its good for some folks --- but do you think maybe it would make some sense to include some folks who frequently play the higher caps to talk to you about some of these players?

if its important for example- Turkey Stearnes rarely gets drafted before the 10th round in a high cap league -
his price just increased???. There are lots more example- Chipper Jones former 8.40 card get taken as early as round 3, and almost always before round 6-- if that doesn't speak to how folks value him not sure what does.
Tons more examples like this, 9.30 and 9.33 Alomar- last few rounds of a draft, his price barely moved, but should be a LOT lower.

Anyway- whatever- im just explaining a few things- its not my biggest fish to fry at the moment.

Is it possible to share a listing or summary of the net $ change for each player ATG8 vs. ATG9.

Assuming this is readily available since you have already compiled it. It would help to make it more transparent and interpret where value lies.

I’m glad they took Duren’s SP rating away. He had one start in 1958. ONE. Got so tired of seeing him in rotations in every 80M league.

By the way, if anyone wants Tim Burke now, enjoy. He’ll cost ya.

It is a little disappointing that more of the overpriced players were not made a better value.

They did a good job with the cards that were under priced , but not those that were overpriced.

Been studying the cards for the last few hours. I feel they did a great job addressing the super reliever problem. They also did a good job increasing the price of 'great deals'. As far as over priced cards they didn't decrease as much as I would have liked, but I am no expert.
I, for one, say well done.

Wow, first person to openly admit they are on the pricing committee. Now if he could only play the game as well as he justifies his actions..

One thing that I noticed is that many nickel players who get used alot were given grossly inflated new salaries. Taveras who really was worth about 60M is now well over a million. I used Roy Spencer a lot at .58, and he went to almost .80M. Basically, most cheap scrubs I liked are now off the charts with price increases. They certainly warranted increases but... I doubt Taveras would have been on many draft cards about .70 million. Some guys went down but many guys who are almost never used did not and a lot of guys who were good values have now been overpriced into oblivion. I think there were some major overreactions on the part of the formerly top secret pricing committee.
