Agree. All of those things are fixed by pricing the card to account for it. But dealing with a 60 day injury when you don't have an IR is just not a fun way to spend $20.
Hmmmm, then maybe we should have an IR (that would add a layer, wouldn't it?)
I know no one's in favor of it (except me, I guess). However, I would argue that repricing doesn't fix the usage issue. There will still be super relievers. With the addition of more serviceable and cheap modern SP's, we'll seem something close to what we've seen before. Instead of 300 IP from the superman, it'll be what, 200? Still overused. We'll see...
On ballparks: Some interesting choices in the first random league I entered. But seeing only one Forbes makes me happy.
Of course, there's two Polo Grounds.
To me the super-advanced injuries ruin the game. I did not care for it at all in baseball daily.
Re the super-reliever usage, I believe the combination of significantly higher prices and new bullpen rules will address that. Sure, someone might still get 200 innings out of Sutter, but it will cost them almost 8 million. I expect the days of 300-400 innings from Sutter and Murray to be long gone.
Also, with Pineiro priced right, Duren no longer a starter, the 94 Expos pitchers repriced, along with Klippstein, I don't think you will see those types of pitching staffs dominating any longer. Only time will tell...
