Well, I'll be damned — this league is filling up! Once we have 24 players, I'll have someone run a 24-digit randomizer and you will randomly be assigned one of these year sets:
1950-52, 53-54, 55-56, 57-58, 59-60, 61-62, 63-64, 65-66, 67-68, 69-70, 71-72, 73-74, 75-76, 77-78, 79-80, 81-83, 84-85, 86-87, 88-89, 90-91, 92-93, 94-95, 96-97, and 98-99.
To assign year sets, my thinking is that (1) each year is assigned a number in ascending order (so 1 = 1950-52, 2 = 53-54, 3 = 55-56, etc.), then we run the randomizer. Let's say we get a result like 23, 4, 7, and so forth: manager 1 on the signup sheet gets year set 23 (which is 1996-97), manager 2 gets year 4 (which is 1957-58), manager 3 gets year 7 (which is 1963-64), and so forth.
I know that's pretty in the weeds, but just want to let everyone know my approach in case anyone has objections.
