After light research, I've broken up the years (some are three years because of a smaller player pool) like so: 1950-52, 53-54, 55-56, 57-58, 59-60, 61-62, 63-64, 65-66, 67-68, 69-70, 71-72, 73-74, 75-76, 77-78, 79-80, 81-83, 84-85, 86-87, 88-89, 90-91, 92-93, 94-95, 96-97, and 98-99.I have 55 - 56. It is a decent mix of players with some super stars. Of course, $80M cap means you can't have too many stars.
Unfortunately, we're running into some difficulties with some year combinations having inflexible options. 55 - 56 is a good mix of players, though, light on the relievers. Other years have more difficult choices.
