81-83? Wait a minute. The fix is on! ;)

I know. hey, was dying for 79-80 and my We Are Family boys. But I can make this work. For sure.

I also like the theme and put a team together. Have my fingers cross I don't get a bad mix of missed picks in the AD. But, I should be able to handle nearly every possibility. I have 55 - 56. Lots of stars and lots cheap players. Only a few relievers and hard to say if any of the relief is even above average. I am willing to deal with that.

When LMBombers made their point, I checked out their team and I could see they did have a big problem. Even in a best case scenario, the cheap outfielders are simply not there. The chance they get tipped over with SPs also very high. And, even if they don't get tipped over on SPs, they still have to waste >$1.5M on a worthless fifth starter.

Since I didn't scout the teams, I wasn't aware there was a bad mix. Now, I assume there is at least one other not-so-good mix. But, maybe not and LMB is the only one. Even if they are the only one, it still warrants some kind of mitigation.

Several ideas have been floated around including a couple of my own. I am personally resistant to the increased salary cap, but, of the mindset that something has to be done for LMB and anyone else in a similar situation. Of course, we or I would like it to be equitable and easy to enact and enforce.

After how crazy the conversation became and what appeared to be some hard lines forming, I believed it would not end well and decided to see if I could find a replacement.

No worries; thanks for seeking a replacement!

It will be tough for 96-97, but there are six * SPs and one non-star. Not ideal, but also not one pitcher away from being ineligible.

bcousy57, There are not really 6 *SP. Try to make an 80M roster with any 4 of them....Can't be done. I like the theme very much. I just wanted a roster to work with is all. If increasing the cap doesn't work or getting some cheap fillers then how about two different years that are before or after the range you used for the league? I really don't care what years they are just as long as I have at least a a few players to work with that can fit under 80M.

Just catching up.

Why not start over with $85 cap and 3 year ranges?

Bummer, sorry it isn't working out. You are welcome to take 1981 from me and add it to your two, if people are OK with that.

LMBombers, just trade years with bcousy as he's offered and we're back on track for now. or take his second offer of 81

** just looked, 81 is such a small pool that it won't effect the theme that much anyway

At this point, I honestly don't care.

Wow...missed alot while at work.

Quick question - Can we pick any stadium we want?

As to the situation I've been reading about concerning LMB, or possibly any other manager, "IF" he misses out on a player or two that makes his team non-compliant.

My .02...we wait until after the draft...if a team needs a cheap scrub to fill out a legal roster, I'm fine with it and don't really care what year (we are not already using) that the scrub comes from.

We just double check that it's the only option possible to make team compliant.

Love this theme and looking forward to it!

Psyched to play. Happy to find any reasonable solution. No doubt putting a team together with these limitations is seriously challenging and I think I'm working with some pretty good years.
