My decision to join will hinge on the answer. I believe the 3 Kings should be keepers, or have strict regulations.

I think making the kings keepers makes sense.

I think in the 80s, there are very few pitchers that are guaranteed to have good/great seasons. Dropping a pitcher on a great year is a risk because another owner could drop a king to pick him up. So, I wouldn't have a problem with someone trying to keep a rotation going by dropping a pitcher every series. Seems to me like an interesting gamble. Also, since the 80s doesn't have unbalanced stadiums, there will be few teams that are heavily biased vs lefty or righty pitchers, so dropping a lefty for a righty is unlikely to be very helpful.

If you had 3 stud SP as your 3 Kings that likely means your offense will struggle to score runs in any park. Also as someone said if one of those Kings is a real stud others won't let him keep hitting the FA market over and over.

I think the cap needs to be an unlimited cap because I'm not sure a team with only 3 Kings meets the minimum salary for an 80M league for instance. Not 100% on that however.

This theme has run several times over the years and had no such issues. It will be fine IMO.

I went back and took a look at prior leagues under this theme. In leagues with unlimited "King" moves, there was never widespread adds/drops of the kings to gain an advantage. The main focus was always on the scrubs...trying to figure out on a series by series basis whether you can get a scrub team on the best cards.

Most chosen kings have been hitters, I think the logic being that a king pitcher can help you one every 4 games (or 5 if you are a nolan ryan fan), as opposed to a King hitter helping you every game.

Let's say worst case that you want to have 3 new King starters every series. Based on how "king" pitchers in these prior leagues have performed versus "king" hitters, I still believe that the better chance of success is gained with king hitters.

Why a $200M league?

LM is right...we need the unlimited cap because of minimum salary requirements in the 80M league.
