whatever your opinion on this is,
this shouldn't have ever gotten to this point in the first place.

this would be the kind of thing where PRIOR to the release you poll people.

As I mentioned -- they should've polled people about the RP situation too.
regardless of if you personally think its an improvement.

Yes, I remember the poll....in it, ONE of the many questions asked to the community asked, on a scale of 1 to 5 how much importance should SOM put into dealing with the Super Reliever problem....that's it.

There was never any community discussion as I recall in any other instances on how best to deal with it.....especially questions like POSSIBLY along these: How many roles should a reliever be limited to? 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 roles???

Nothing like that.

So, I'm not buying that there was ever much community input into the fixing of the Super Reliever.

True, they asked a general question about the concerns of the community, rather than specifics about how to fix the problem. I personally can live with that. It seems to me though, that there is a double standard here. I would have liked to have had participant input into the new Barnstormer rules where the finishers beyond #9 go into a 24 team "pick the lucky number lottery" to get into the finals. This was accepted almost without comment, yet there is a hue and cry that the game company must conduct polls for each and every change they make.

one is an annual tournament -- the other is the game.
its not a reasonable parallel by any stretch
one is run by Moose- who you can talk to here on the boards--
who can you have this dialogue with from SOM?

Your opinion is noted. As you said in one of your posts, I am entitled to mine and I think it is a reasonable parallel. I am starting the dialog now, but I have had interactions with Mighty Moose in the past and I know how it will end
