All stats based on Veterans 1975 (10,10,10,10)
1921 Austin McHenry, STL, Bats-R, E Balance, CF/LF/RF-2(-2)e14, 3 Game INJ Risk
LH--7.8 2b, 1.2 3b, 5.5 HR, 6 BB 433/470/697, 1.167 OPS
RH--7.6 2b, 1.3 3b, 5.5 HR, 6 BB 428/465/692, 1.157 OPS
Five seasons into a promising career, McHenry started having trouble with his eyesight in the 1922 season. The Cardinals sent him home to rest, and a brain tumor was later detected. McHenry died a couple months later.
The guy was a lifetime .302 hitter in 4+ seasons, and I think that this would be a good add. No card in the set.
1923 Edd Roush, CIN, Bats-L, E Balance, CF/LF/RF-1(-2)e12, Steal: *4-6/- (17-12), 15 game INJ risk

RH--8.9 2b, 4.8 3b, 2.6 HR, 3 BB 494/513/746, 1.258 OPS
Batted .378 and didn't win the batting title, finished 2nd in MVP Voting, Led League in Hits and Doubles, He's a .330 LIFETIME Hitter, give the man a better card
1929 Dale Alexander, DET, Bats R, E Balance, 1b-4e17, IN Game INJ Risk Only
LH--7.6 2b, 3.4 3b, 7.7 HR, 7 BB 427/469/802, 1.271 OPS
RH--7.5 2b, 3.4 3b, 7.4 HR, 7 BB 418/461/782, 1.243 OPS
Alexander was a can't-miss superstar his first 3 seasons in MLB, leading the league in hits in 1929 and winning the batting title in 1932 with the Red Sox. Quite an offensive force.
He injured his leg in 1933 and the training staff tried a new deep-heat method to try to reduce pain, decrease inflammation, and thereby speed healing: diathermy. However, they left it on for too long and burned his leg. Amputation was feared, but the leg improved enough for that not to be necessary. The leg atrophied, however, and Alexander never returned to the majors.
His career batting average was .331.
1933 Mickey Cochrane, PHA, Bats-L, Balance, 1R Balance, C-1(-3)e3, 15 Game INJ Risk, 2 INJ Rating

RH—2b-6.7, 3b-0.5, HR-4.1, BB-31, 421/593/683, 1.275 OPS
Probably his best card

LH--6.5 2b, 0.8 3b, 1.5 HR, 14 BB 435/514/570, 1.004 OPS
RH--5.3 2b, 0.6 3b, 1.7 HR, 7 BB 339/388/453, .841 OPS
17th in MVP Voting.
For a decade, Lockman was a starter for some good Giants teams. Historically, he probably has one of the longest careers of a player with NO Card (not counting recent 2000s players). I think he'd be a great add, either card, thought that 1949 might be more interesting.
1950 Dom DiMaggio, BOS, Bats-R, 2L Balance, CF-1(-3)e8, 3 Game INJ Risk
LH--7.7 2b, 1.6 3b, 1.8 HR, 12 BB 439/512/611, 1.123 OPS

RH—2b-1, 3b-1, HR-13.8, BB-5, 288/334/726, 1.060 OPS

RH--7.4 2b, 0 3b, 0.6 HR, 7 BB 433/475/525, 1.000 OPS
Important guy for history of baseball, and this would be his best card by a long shot. Much better OBP and hitting to go along with great defense. 13th in MVP Voting.
1969 Matty Alou, PIT, Bats-L, 3R Balance, LF-2(+2)e8, CF-2(+2)e8, Steal: *5,6/-(17-11), BULLETPROOF
LH--7.1 2b, 1.2 3b, 0 HR, 0 BB 302/309/391, .699 OPS
RH--8 2b, 0.6 3b, 0.5 HR, 1 BB 435/445/534, .979 OPS
This is an improvement on Matty's other cards, he led league in Hits and Doubles.
1970 Denis Menke, HOU, Bats-R, 1L Balance, 1b-4e5, 2b-3e8, SS-3e40, 3b-3e65, LF/RF-4(+2)e16, 3 Game INJ Risk

RH—2b-6.5, 3b-1, HR-4.8, BB-9, 308/378/542, .920 OPS
Without a doubt, Watson needs an ATG upgrade. 14 year Astro in a 19 year career, it’s just a matter of which of these two cards should be the one. (Don’t worry about 1976 card, it looks good on paper, but vs LHP it is not better than 1975 vs LHP, and it’s much weaker against RHP than 75 & 77).
1973(kills LH), 1975(kills LH) & 1977(balance) are all good and more representative of his fine career.
1977 Al Bumbry, BAL, Bats-L, 2R Balance, LF-3(+1)e4, CF-4(+1)e4, Steal: *4-6/-(16-12)
LH--0 2b, 2 3b, 0.8 HR, 11 BB 310/387/376, .763 OPS
RH--10.7 2b, 0 3b, 1.1 HR, 5 BB 416/449/552, 1.001 OPS
Great leadoff guy for the O's for more than a decade. His other cards are not representative of his career. This card is better offensively than his 1980 card, plus he can play LF (his 1980 card is only eligible in CF and is not great on defense). He can work on those RHP, imagine a platoon with Gene Clines, etc
1977 Andre Thornton, CLE, Bats-R, 6R Balance, 1b-2e9
LH—0 2b, 0.4 3b, 3.5 HR, 21 BB 141/348/279, .626 OPS
RH—6 2b, 1.6 3b, 11.5 HR, 22 BB 332/499/860, 1.359 OPS
Want a cheaper power source in those RH Power Parks? Check out his line vs RHP. Nobody uses his current card. Here’s one that would get some use.
1978 Ivan DeJesus, CHC, Bats-R, 1L Balance, SS-2e28, Steal: *3-6/-(18-13)
LH--1.2 2b, 3.4 3b, 0.8 HR, 14 Bb 327/421/438, .858
RH--3.5 2b, 0.4 3b, 1 HR, 14 BB 301/398/379, .777 OPS
Longtime Cubs/Phillies SS, SHOULD BE in any set, Not a bad add for low cap leagues. No card in set.
1990 David Justice, ATL, Bats-L, 5L Balance, 1b-4e27, RF-3(0)e11, 15 Game INJ Risk
LH--7.2 2b, 0 3b, 12.4 HR, 16 BB 447/529/929, 1.458 OPS
RH--4.2 2b, 0.8 3b, 9.4 HR, 17 BB 239/359/612, .970 OPS
Current 1991 Justice, 3.75m, ATL, Bats-L, 1R Balance, RF-3(-1)e11, 2 INJ Rating, 15 Game INJ Risk
LH--3.7 2b, 0. 3b, 7 HR, 5 BB 299/344/549, .893 OPS
RH--9.6 HR, 0 3b, 8.3 HR, 23 BB 273/441/686, 1.127 OPS
12th in MVP Voting
Rookie of the Year. I like the above 1990 card with its big balance toward LHP, not many cards like that in the set.
1991 Greg Gagne, MIN, Bats-R, 2L Balance, SS-1e12
LH--7.9 2b, 2.6 3b, 0.6 HR, 10 BB 292/370/447, .817 OPS
RH--5.4 2b, 0 3b, 1.5 HR, 1 BB 262/282/356, .639 OPS
Another card that should be in the set, and gives the Twins Exp a 1 at SS (they are weak at SS).
1991 Hal Morris, CIN, Bats-L, 4R Balance, 1b-4e12, LF-4(+1)e25
LH--11.9 2b, 1.2 3b, 0.2 HR, 3 BB 275/295/415, .711 OPS
RH--8.6 2b, 0 3b, 4.4 HR, 8 BB 419/462/637, 1.099 OPS
A lot of 1990s minor stars have gotten left out in the stampede to add 2000s cards. Might have been a star had he not been injured so often. That line vs RHP looks pretty strong.....No card in set
1993 Jay Bell, PIT, Bats-R, 2L Balance, SS-1e12
LH--8.1 2b, 1.4 3b, 0.3 HR, 21 BB 430/551/568, 1.120 OPS
RH--3.4 2b, 2.6 3b, 0.2 HR, 13 BB 348/439/445, .884 OPS
Golden Glove and Silver Slugger in 1993. That defense is a NICE add for PIT exp.
Current 1995 Bell
LH--7.2 2b, 0.6 3b, 7 HR, 15 BB 356/457/679, 1.136 OPS
RH-- 4.2 2b, 0.9 3b, 0.3 HR, 11 BB 250/340/321, .661 OPS
1993 Alex Fernandez, CWS, Throws-R, 3R Balance, S7*
LH—7.4 2b, 0 3b, 4.4 HR, 4 BB 205/234/402, .637 OPS
RH--0.5 2b, 0.8 3b, 2.4 HR, 6 BB 148/195/238, .434 OPS
CWS 1990s hurler, No card in set.
1996 Ryan Klesko, ATL, Bats-L, 7R Balance, 1b-4e25, LF-4(+1)e7
LH--0 2b, 0.6 3b, 2 HR, 5 BB 175/220/245, .465 OPS
RH--2.6 2b, 0.8 3b, 11.6 HR, 14 BB 312/407/730, 1.138 OPS
His 1999 card is a 9R, but this one is just as good vs RHP and actually has a couple of hits vs LHP. Good platoon option for Braves of the 90s. No card in set.
1997 Matt Stairs, OAK, Bats-L, 1R Balance, RF/LF-4(-2)e7, 1b-4e7, 15 Game INJ Risk
LH--0 2b, 0 3b, 15.3 HR, 17 BB 253/384/767, 1.151 OPS
RH--6.3 2b, 0 3b, 10.6 HR, 16 BB 352/460/775, 1.235 OPS
Professional Hitter, No card in set.
1997 John Valentin, BOS, Bats-R, 3R Balance, 3b-3e29, 2b-3e23
LH--9 2b, 0.6 3b, 3.3 HR, 16 BB 234/362/456, .818 OPS
RH--10.9 2b, 1.4 3b, 3.5 HR, 7 BB 402/451/644, 1.096 OPS
Led League in Doubles, good line vs RHP, decent vs LHP. Don't ask about his 1995 Season, it's a little bit of an outlier on HR power and his defense is a SS-3e22, not enough to get used. This 1997 card is a much better option and highlights what he did: hit a lot of doubles off of the Monstah……….No card in set
1998 Brian Jordan, STL, Bats-R, 3L Balance, RF/CF-2(-1)e11, 3b-4e37, Steal:*5,6/-(17-12)
LH--14.1 2b, 3.4 3b, 5.1 HR, 5 BB 439/480/798, 1.278 OPS
RH--3.7 2b, 1.5 3b, 6.1 HR, 6 BB 352/406/605, 1.011 OPS
No card in the set for former Brave & Cardinal......
