Hi, everyone,
I just wanted to share some thoughts I have shared in a couple other keeper leagues with similar rules. Having taken some time to think of how to best play our game in the keeper league format given all the uncertainty with MLB right now, here is the best proposal I have been able to come up with.
If there is going to be an MLB season in 2020, then it makes sense to consider postponing the Supplemental draft and our second season until at least a month into the MLB season. That way, the Supplemental Draft has similar meaning and purpose as in past years.
If there is not going to be an MLB season in 2020, then it makes sense to consider postponing the Supplemental draft and the second season with these cards until next year, again at least a month into the MLB season. That way, again, the Supplemental Draft has similar meaning and purpose as in past years. And wheeling and dealing in the second season will be in preparation for the next fresh batch of Strat cards.
Life without Strat is a little less interesting, but life without MLB has been as well. It would stink to cut our fun this year short, and to miss out on a FA draft next year, but it's really out of our hands. In thinking of what is the most fair and equitable, from a keeper league perspective, this proposal is the best I have been able to come up with.
My 2 cents.
Have a great Memorial Day!
