I like all of andycummings picks. In particular, ’28 Heinie Manush and ’33 Mickey Cochrane.

1933 Mickey Cochrane - Ca-1e3(-3) T-4(pb-1)
.322 / .459 / .515 - best hitting season; super-high OBP

These last two are kinda redundant – only a loonytoon fanatic for left-handed power parks could love ‘em... ;) :D

1973 Joe Morgan - 2b-1e10
.290 / .406 / .493 - best fielding, best base-stealing, and injury-proof Morgan card. Kills righties (L 4R) + PLAYS ALL 162 GAMES (687 AB + Walks)

1924 Babe Ruth - RF-1e14(-3) – errors would probably be normalized to a lower number
.378 / .513 / .739 – from one of the most recent Deluxe card sets. Ruth’s only Gold Glove season. Demolishes righties (L 4R) and no injuries.

I think that Joe Morgan IS reduntant. I'd much rather see the 1977 Morgan. Should be a good leadoff man at a MUCH CHEAPER price point, and is a 1 e6

1984 Dave Winfield, Yankees, LF, RF 1(-5) e2, CF 3(-5) e2 .340 19 100 .393 .515 .908 Career highs in Hits & BA; One of Winfield's best seasons for DO, OBP & OPS. This card is similar to the Clemente cards, but without the 15 game injury drama. If you like to play smallball, 1984 Winfield would be perfect for LF, especially at caps of $100 mil or more, since the only other players who are 1(-5) in LF are Meusel and Dihigo, and Winfield's card is better, both offensively and defensively.

1986 Jesse Barfield, Blue Jays, RF 1(-5) e3, CF 2(-5) e3 .289 40 108 .368 .559 .927 Career highs in BA, DO, HR, RBI, SLG, OPS & 2nd best career high in OBP. Won a Gold Glove and Silver Slugger. Barfield was a good player for many years, and hit 40 HRs in a season in the pre-steroid era.

1974 Rick Monday, Cubs CF 1(-1) Bats L .294 20 58 .375 .467 .842. Monday had a fine 19 year big league career with the A's, Cubs and Dodgers and this was his career high BA as a regular at a time when hitting .294 meant that you were a good hitter. The Cubs are woefully short on good lefty sticks and Monday hit .313 vs lefties that year and .285 against righties. This card would be an improvement over Monday's 1975 card, where he hit just .267. The Cubs are in need of good lefty bats in franchise league play, and Monday would help.

1972 Joe Rudi, LF, 1(0) e2 A's Bats R .305 19 75 .345 .486 .830. Led AL in hits and 3B. Career highs in PA, R, H, 3B, TB, OBP, OPS & OPS+. Near career highs in BA, 2B, HR, BB. 2nd in MVP voting behind Dick Allen. In 1972, the strike shortened year of the pitcher, Rudi had his finest season, despite playing in cavernous Oakland Alameda Coliseum. A major cog in those A's teams that won 3 straight world championships, Rudi was considered the most underrated player in baseball. A fine fielder, Rudi never put up gaudy numbers or was flashy, but did all the little things to help his team win. This would be a great improvement over Rudi's 1976 card.

1972 Joe Rudi, OAK, Bats-R, E Balance, LF-1(0)e2, 3b-4e37
LH--7 2b, 2.7 3b, 5 HR, 0 BB 364/370/621, .991 OPS
RH--6.8 2b, 2.4 3b, 4.8 HR, 4 BB 359/389/610, .999 OPS

1958 Jackie Jensen, RF, 1(-3)e16 Red Sox, Bats R .286 35 122 .396 .535 .931 Career highs in HR, RBI, SLG, TB, OPS, OPS+. Near career best in DO. Led AL in RBI, AL MVP. Played all 154 games for the Red Sox, so likely bullet proof. Retired prematurely because of fear of flying and to spend more time with his family. I've never quite understood why Jensen gets virtually no mention for an upgraded card. This card would help the Post War BoSox in franchise leagues.

1958 Jackie Jensen, BOS, Bats-R, 5L Balance, RF-1(-3)e16, 3 Game INJ Risk
LH-- 11.2 2b, 0 3b, 13.3 HR, 40 BB 452/660/1.215, 1.875 OPS
RH--5.5 2b, 0 3b, 8.3 HR, 19 BB 324/449/668, 1.117 OPS

Current 1957 Jackie Jensen, 5.10m, BOS, Bats-R, 1L Balance, RF/LF-1(-3)e14, 3 Game INJ Risk
LH--8.3 2b, 0.7 3b, 5.1 HR, 19 BB 340/462/621, 1.083 OPS
RH--5.3 2b, 0 3b, 5.7 HR, 16 BB 298/409/545, .954 OPS
That is some line vs LHP.

1971 Tony Oliva RF, Twins, 5R .337 22 81 .369 .546 .915 Led A.L. in BA & SLG. Career highs in BA, OPS+. Near career highs in SLG, OPS & OBP. Oliva was headed for the HOF until knee injuries robbed him of his speed and made him a DH. Oliva is the only player in MLB history to win the batting title in his first two seasons. Oliva was an All Star right fielder in his first 8 big league seasons, even winning a gold glove. In a pitching dominated era, in his first 8 seasons before injuring his knee, he won 3 batting titles, finished second once, third 3 times and eighth once. Some may say that Oliva already has 3 cards, but why not give him what would arguably be his best card, one that destroys RHP?

1973 Dave May Brewers CF, 2(-2) Bats L .303 25 93 .352 .473 .824 Career highs in virtually every offensive category. Led AL in total bases. A good lefty bat alternative in CF to low BA/OBP Gorman Thomas for the Brewers in franchise leagues.

1973 Dave May, MIL, Bats-L, 1R Balance, CF-2(-2)e10, 3 Game INJ Risk
LH—2b-2.1, 3b-1, HR-6.4, BB-0, 308/321/528, .849 OPS
RH—2b-3.9, 3b-0.3, HR-6.4, BB-7, 381/432/619, 1.052 OPS

1983 Lloyd Moseby Blue Jays, CF 2(-1) e8 Bats L 1R .315 18 81 .376 .499 .875 27 SBs Career highs in Hits, DO, BA, OPB, OPS, OPS+. A good lefty bat alternative for the Blue Jays in CF in franchise leagues.

https://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/838552/1680/1/80

1978 Jack Clark Giants RF 3(-2) Bats R 2L .306 25 98 .358 .537 .895 15 SBs. Full season career high in Hits, DO, TR, BA, TB & SBs. Near career highs in Runs and SLG. Check out all the extra base hits on this card! Doesn't have all the walks of the other Clark cards, but has lots more hits.

https://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/732095/1670/1/70

1968 Willie Mays, Giants .289 23 79 .372 .488. At 37 years of age, father time had begun to take his toll on the great Say Hey Kid, but even at his advanced age in the year of the pitcher, Mays put up good enough numbers to rank among the league leaders in most offensive categories. Mays played in 148 games and won his last Gold Glove. While technically not an improvement over his other cards, wouldn't it be great to have this very good and lower priced Mays card to play CF for the Giants in expansion franchise leagues?

1925 Jim Bottomley, Cardinals, 1B, bats L. .367 21 128 .413 .992. Led NL in games played, HITS and DO. Career highs in HITS and DO. Near career highs in games played, BA, OBP & OPS.

1976 Bill Robinson OF, 3B, 1B, Pirates, 3L .303 21 64 .329 .534 .864 Career highs in SLG, OPS & OPs+. Near career highs in BA & OBP. A career journeyman and late bloomer, Robinson found a home with the Pirates, and was a valuable member of the team for 7+ seasons, playing multiple positions. 1 ATG card.

http://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/740221/1670/1/70

1970 Cito Gaston, Padres, RHB CF 2(-2)e10 .318 29 93 .364 .543 .907 Career highs in EVERY major and minor offensive category. Talent starved Padres badly need another good player.

https://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/734219/1670/1/70

1984 Chili Davis, Giants, bats both, CF, RF 2(-1)e13 .315 21 81 .368 .507 .875 Near career highs in a number of major offensive categories. Davis was a 5 tool player while with the Giants, but when leg injuries slowed him down, went to the AL as a DH. Belted 350 HRs during his career and has just one lousy card.

https://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/802864/1680/1/80

2000 Carl Everett, Red Sox, bats both, CF 2(-2)e8 .300 34 108 .373 .587 .959 career highs in 3B, HR, RBI, SLG, TB. Near career highs in R, 2B, BA, BB, OBP, OPS & OPS+. Everett's 1999 was a little better offensively, but that card has a bad injury number, so 2000 it is!

2000 Mike Sweeney, Royals, RHB, 1B/DH .333 29 144 .407 .523 .930 Career highs in G, PA, H, R, HR, RBI, TB, HBP. Near career highs in BA, OBP, SLG, OPS & OPS+. Led A.L. in HBP. Sweeney was a professional hitter whose career was hindered by nagging injuries. His only card, 2002, though good offensively, is unusable because of an injury on a 4.

1984 Dan Gladden, Giants, RHB, CF 2(0)e6 .351 4 31 .408 .447 Career highs in BA, OBP, SLG, OPS & OPS+. Near career high in SB. Would make a good lead off man.

https://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/834398/1680/1/80

1972 Dusty Baker, RHB, Braves, CF 2(-1) .321 17 76 Career highs in BA, OBP, OPS & OPS+. Near career high in SLG. Finished 3rd in N.L. in BA.

https://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/730416/1670/1/70

1979 Gary Mathews, RHB, Braves, RF 3(0)e8 .304 27 90 .363 .502 .865 Career highs in H, 2B, HR, RBI, BA, SLG, TB, OPS & OPS+. Near career highs in R & SB. In game injury only. This card would be a big improvement over Matthews' other cards.

https://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/737646/1670/1/70

2013 Yasiel Puig, RF, Dodgers, RHB, .319 19 42 .391 .534 .925. Career highs in BA, OBP, SLG, OPS & OPS+. RF 2(-5)e9. Yeah, I know, we just got a Puig card added by SOM in ATG9, but this card is better.

1970 Ken Henderson; SF Giants ;I have his card from the old set, but no online card as of yet. Ken is a switch hitter who can play all 3 outfield positions as a 2 (-2) ,He batted .294 with an OBP of .394 with 17 Hrs; he had 649 plate appearances and in addition he is an A base stealer.

Henderson would be a nice addition to franchise leagues assuming he is priced correctly. Let's face it we already have just about every great player and every great season in the pool notwithstanding some of the more recent seasons, With his versatility he just might be a popular choice.

Henderson has a poorly representative card, but he does have one ... 1977

Love the Winfield, Rudi, Moseby, Barfield suggestions. Wouldn't mind seeing Dwayne Murphy's 33 HR card, either.

I think we have enough Ruth, and not sure why we'd need another Cochrane.

So Riggo wants the 1973 Morgan card added. I suggest he do so with his 1 pick from losing the BS semifinals. Interesting that he should try to sneak Morgan in this way when the community just voted to not add Morgan in the 20.2 add!
