This is the 30th season of the dual franchise league. We will be using the new ATG9 cards recently released; within those cards are a subset that Stratomatic created at BDWards request entitled Post WWII . The set can be found when you create a team and there is an option just under the ATG9 set. Salary cap is 140 million, 5% DROP; we WILL be using a designated hitter, no waivers. You MUST have a players card on one of your franchises in order to use him on your roster, unless you acquire a player via trade.
Each manager must pick 1 team from each column below. . A manager has exclusive rights to players on his roster; if a player is on more than one roster, he belongs to the team where his salary is highest. We are using a serpentine draft, so each manager picks one team first and then we reverse the order. List of teams will be posted below. Please sign up using the cut and paste method. Official draft order will follow. Because there are many new cards and a lot of salary changes there is a lot of uncertainty; so I have chosen to go with the same team lineups in each column, keeping the Astros and Expos as original franchises and Orioles and Whitesox will stay on the expansion side.
Each team will be allowed ONE Trade only. (Multi player deals will be allowed). However ALL trades must occur after your team has been created. This will allow all of us to follow the various trades. You can agree to a trade while the draft is still going on, but you must draft the player you have rights to and then trade him after the team rosters are created by Strat.
Let me repeat that again because managers have ignored this rule in the past. ALL TRADES MUST BE MADE AFTER STRAT HAS CREATED THE LEAGUE; YOU MUST DRAFT AND THEN TRADE A PLAYER EVEN IF YOU AGREED TO A TRADE WHILE OUR DRAFT IS STILL RUNNING.
One major change that has occurred with the salary changes is that ARod is now property of the Yankees ( no longer the Rangers) so that changes the landscape quite a bit. Lowering the salary cap to 140 million will help level the field a bit. Another nice updated card is Richie Allen who is now a 1B-3 , so he can play the field, subsequently one of McCoveys good cards got upgraded from a 4 to a 2 at first base. There are a number of good new additions also.
