Does anyone know if waiving players effects your chance of winning?

I had two long losing streaks of 13 and 17 games.
Part of the problem was the horrible AT &T Park where Rendon, Bregman and Yelich didn't hit at all

I had a team where I had a better run diff than the div winner and WC. I was 1 game away from the WC team at the end.

I was going to complain a bit but then I saw what happened to hendrix08, who had a better run diff than me and wound up 11 games back of all 3 teams!
