‘Ken Griffey as a RED In 2005 (946 OPS) he was a cf3(-1)4 1R. But in 2000 (942 OPS) for CIN he was a 1(-2)6 1R. Makes all the difference’”

1. 1974 Bart Johnson CWS SP 10-4 2.74 1.12whip. Spring training injury in 1975 derailed a promising career. Would be a nice addition for the Exp-era White Sox. https://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/735942/1670/1/70
2. 1969 Mack Jones - The starting left fielder and darling of the expansion Montreal Expos, Jones hit a three-run home run and two-run triples in an 8–7 win over the St. Louis Cardinals in the Expos' first home victory as a franchise at Jarry Park. Jones' blast was also the first MLB home run hit outside the United States. Jones was so popular in Montreal that the left-field bleachers in Jarry Park were nicknamed "Jonesville." It's a shame that he currently has no card in ATG.

28. Cupid Childs Many great years. 1896 when he hit .355 with a .467 OBP might be his best card, but we need to see what the D is.
This article was written by Jimmy Keenan (brief excerpt)
Cupid Childs was one of the best hitting major league second basemen during the late nineteenth century, not to mention a better-than-average fielder who possessed great range on the diamond. Only four other second basemen in the history of major league baseball have averaged more total chances per game than Childs. His all-around outstanding play made him an integral part of the great Cleveland Spiders teams of the 1890s.
A natural middle infielder, Childs threw right-handed and batted left-handed. He played shortstop during his early years in the minors but eventually settled in at the keystone position for the remainder of his career. Childs, who seldom struck out, was a great contact hitter with an excellent batting eye. In his prime, he batted anywhere from first to fourth in the batting order. His best years in the majors produced batting averages of .345, .317, .326, .353, .355 and .338. Childs' lifetime major league on-base percentage of .416 is higher than every second baseman in the Hall of Fame except Rogers Hornsby and Eddie Collins.
29. 1930 Adam Comorosky- 112 runs, 47 doubles, 23 triples (league leader), 12 homeruns, 119 RBI's, 14 SB's, slashed .313/.371/.529 played Left and Center for the Pirates. We've all had his lame card on our team at one time or another, let's get the good one.
30. 1936 Hal Trosky, Indians, LHB, 1B .343 42 162 .382 .644 1.026 Career highs in R, H, 2B, 3B, HR, RBI, BA, SLG, TB & OPS. Led A.L. in RBI & TB. Had nearly 100 extra base hits without steroids! Had more RBI his first 3 years than HOFers Gehrig, Foxx and Greenberg each had their first 3 years. Career tragically cut short by constant migranes. 1B 4e22.
31. 1904 Rube Waddell - 11.3 WAR; his best year I believe (despite winning the tripe crown the following year), struck out 110 more batters then the next and ended with 348k which stood for a very long time. On a personal note, he was the one that drew me into baseball stories and folklore when I was a kid.
32. 1983 Bob Horner, Braves. One of his best seasons in OB and power... .303 .383 .528 better on base vs righties .388, but more power vs lefties, .590. As usual injuries will be a problem... he will have a 15 gm injury chance. But this will be a big improvement on his only card.
33. 1986 Jesse Barfield, Blue Jays, R, 1R RF 1(-5) e3, CF 2(-5) e3 .289 40 108 .368 .559 .927 Career highs in PA, R, BA, DO, HR, RBI, SLG, OPS & 2nd best career high in OBP. Won a Gold Glove and Silver Slugger. Big arm and great power make Barfield very usable in CF as well.

34. 1982 Damaso Garcia, Blue Jays, R, EVEN, 2B 1e18, .310/.338/.399, Silver Slugger, AA stealer, An even hitting card would be a nice addition for the Jays...https://onlinegames.strat-o-matic.com/p ... 982/2/1982
35. 2012 Joey Votto High injury rating but is worth the risk plus it should keep the price down. Lots of doubles.
https://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/1195/2012/1/2012
36. 2005 Ken Griffey Jr. Probably his best card with the Reds, at least as far as batting average and slugging. 301/369/576. 30 doubles, 35 home runs.

1. 1974 Bart Johnson CWS SP 10-4 2.74 1.12whip.

I am proposing his 1896 card when he hit .355 with a .467 OBP, and as Andy graciously pointed out a 1 defensively. I would imagine that his normalized e number is similar to Ross Barnes but we shall see.

34. 1982 Damaso Garcia, Blue Jays, R, EVEN, 2B 1e18, .310/.338/.399, Silver Slugger, AA stealer, An even hitting card would be a nice addition for the Jays... https://onlinegames.strat-o-matic.com/p ... 982/2/1982
35. 2012 Joey Votto High injury rating but is worth the risk plus it should keep the price down. Lots of doubles.
https://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/1195/2012/1/2012
36. 2005 Ken Griffey Jr. Probably his best card with the Reds, at least as far as batting average and slugging. 301/369/576. 30 doubles, 35 home runs.

1. 1974 Bart Johnson CWS SP 10-4 2.74 1.12whip.

36. 2005 Ken Griffey Jr. Probably his best card with the Reds, at least as far as batting average and slugging. 301/369/576. 30 doubles, 35 home runs.
37. Bill Doak, 1914: 19-6, 1.72 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, 1st in ERA and ERA+, 5.4 WAR, 13th in MVP, 2 cards in SOM, had a long career, 'Spittin' Bill' was one of 17 pitchers allowed to throw the spitter after 1920

39. 1970 Cito Gaston, Padres, RHB CF 2(-2)e10 .318 29 93 .364 .543 .907 Career highs in G, PA, R, H, DO, TR, HR, RBI, BA, BB, OBP, SLG, SB, TB, OPS & OPS+. Talent starved Padres desperately need another good player.

1. 1974 Bart Johnson CWS SP 10-4 2.74 1.12whip.

An oft-requested player. Catcher defense will likely drag his price down enough to make him a GREAT platoon option at DH/1b, maybe even OF corner. [With thanks to Andy for suggestion, stats & comment]
6. 2008 Carlos Quentin CWS OF. .298/.394/.571 36 homeruns would give some extra punch to an Expansion Era White Sox roster that certainly needs it. https://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/929/2008/1/2008. (Plus, we could always use more players whose name begins with a Q  )

Just re-read David Halberstam's The Teammates, about Doerr, Ted, Pesky, & Dom. Dom was a classy guy. Led League in Runs, triples, and steals. Nice OBP for an iconic Red Sox CF, would improve the post-war Red Sox CF situation.
26.1969 Ernie Banks CHC 1B, not up to his normal offensive levels, but would be the only Ernie Banks card at 1B where he spent nearly half of his career. 3 game injury risk and only 4 errors all season. The Ernie I actually saw growing up.
27.2001 Russ Ortiz SF Throws-R BAL-4R END-S7*

Best season for Ortiz, pretty good card, stronger vs R
28. Cupid Childs Many great years. I am proposing his 1896 card when he hit .355 with a .467 OBP, and as Andy graciously pointed out a 1 defensively. I would imagine that his normalized e number is similar to Ross Barnes but we shall see.

34. 1982 Damaso Garcia, Blue Jays, R, EVEN, 2B 1e18, .310/.338/.399, Silver Slugger, AA stealer, An even hitting card would be a nice addition for the Jays... https://onlinegames.strat-o-matic.com/p ... 982/2/1982
35. 2012 Joey Votto High injury rating but is worth the risk plus it should keep the price down. Lots of doubles.
https://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/1195/2012/1/2012
36. 2005 Ken Griffey Jr. Probably his best card with the Reds, at least as far as batting average and slugging. 301/369/576. 30 doubles, 35 home runs.
37. Bill Doak, 1914: 19-6, 1.72 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, 1st in ERA and ERA+, 5.4 WAR, 13th in MVP, 2 cards in SOM, had a long career, 'Spittin' Bill' was one of 17 pitchers allowed to throw the spitter after 1920
38. 2002 Brendan Donnelly, Anaheim Angels World Series champs. Great card versus RH, 5R. Only 32 hits in 50 innings. 1.02 WHIP, no HRs on card.
