Summer - Winter Keeper League - SEASON 30

With the five round draft starting today (ends tomorrow) and the modified rules for signing and paying of bonuses, I am unsure how that will impact contract signing. I haven't tried to research this year's changes to understand how they may impact future years. If this year's changes were for this year, only, and the draft reverts back for next year, some players may be motivated to not sign and re-enter the draft, next year, if that could give them better leverage. On the other hand, with the collective bargaining agreement ending after the 2021 season, the league and the union are in a very tight spot to keep the game running without further interruption.

My point is, let's be very clear what date new amateurs have to be under contract by in order to be drafted in this year's Prospect draft.

I thought we have used the date the prospect draft started in years past? But I did not see any mention of this in the league rules, perhaps its a date set by the commish when we are getting ready for drafting. I agree it should be known before we draft.

Prospect draft rules for this league don't seem to care when the MLB version is held:

2) Each team will be able to select 4 prospects, defined as any player who: a) DID NOT RECEIVE A CARD for the current season; b) does not appear on TSN's website; and c) is the property of an MLB team. In other words, no, those who have not yet signed as of the start of that year's draft are not eligible for the prospect draft.

It is the start date of the SWKL draft that counts. Prospects must be signed by an MLB team at that point to be eligible for the SWKL prospect draft.
